I was just curious about how other lay people pray the Liturgy of the Hours. So here’s a poll.

Same, but I only use the incense on feasts and solemnities.I pray privately and silently BUT I also burn incense , candles and have gregorian chant playing.
ALL postings in this forum are examples of verbal intercourseI do it in the privacy of my bedroom, with the three cats “helping out”.
I do recite it “verbally”…meaning that I use words. I also recite it “orally”, meaning I speak the words as opposed to writing them. “Verbally” means “with words”, and can mean written AND/OR oral.
(We need a smilie of a Nun with a yardstick)
Is there a link for the short version? I did a search on the LOTH once, and the only things I came up with where these really looooong versions. What is a lay person, BTW?Your poll didn’t come through.
I use a shorten version that makes it easy for me to do at least one Psalm and the major prayers. Most of us are too busy to do the whole thing every morning and evening–at least I am.
You’re braver than I am! I have such a horrible voice, even my guardian angle wouldn’t stick around to pray with me!I usually sing the hymns, when I pray the LotH. I make up notes.
So is it an acute angle or an obtuse angle? You’re braver than I am! I have such a horrible voice, even my guardian angle wouldn’t stick around to pray with me!I’d scare 'em all off!
I couldn’t use incense - I’ve got allergies.Oh I like the idea of the incense and candles.I pray privately, out loud. Ok, orally.
