Was wondering how you pray. I pray the Rosary every day, I talk to God in the car when I drive my daughter home from school and after reading “The Help” I’ve started writing down my daily prayers in a note book… I found that when I used to pray before bed, I was distracted almost all the time and I fell asleep about half of the time. Just curious… What works for you?

A “Good morning, Lord” when I awaken, and a litnay of prayers before my feet hit the floor. Setting aside time during the day to pray. Most of all, and best of all, is appearing before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament (or even in the Tabernacle) and offering prayers directly to Him. I can think of nothing that compares with that.

My husband and I pray the liturgy of the hours. In the past I’ve prayed a daily rosary, I’ve done lexio divina and I’ve kept a prayer journal. Since haven’t my daughter, still haven’t quite gotten back in the groove. I’m starting to think the reason the rosary is more popular than Liturgy of the Hours because a durable rosary can handle a baby’s grabbing fingers. But any sort of book is just a temptation for my daughter to attempt to tear out the pages.

I pray the rosary in the morning before I get out of bed and as I’m falling asleep. 🙂
I go to daily mass and always stay after to pray the rosary as well.

You know something? I’m glad for this thread. I may get some ideas on how to jumpstart (defib) my relationship with God. I get distracted/bored whenever I try to pray or read spiritual stuff (be it the Bible or other spiritual reading). Sad and terrible, but true. So, my thanks to the OP for starting this.
Now to answer the question. When I do pray, it’s usually in short snippets to God such as, “help me with this,” or “do this for me,” or “what can I do for you God.” Now obviously, this isn’t leading me in a good direction, so I wouldn’t reccomend it for others. 🙂

Just start talking to him 🙂 ask him how to pray and go from there! 🙂

How do you pray liturgy of the hours?
