How do you refute the argument that the unborn baby is assaulting the mother?

This person admits that the unborn are humans (but insists that they are not human beings, and are not people), but insists that the unborn is assaulting the mother, therefore abortion is not murder but self-defense. I pointed out that if everyone took this point of view, then the human race would die out, and he said that wouldn’t be a bad thing.

How do I respond to this person?

We are a “stiff-neck” people when it comes to abortion. God judges nations as well as individuals. We, as a nation, will experience God’s mercy through His just justice.

This person is reprobate. The only response is to do penance for their soul and pray that he/she will receive extraordinary grace.

The mother is giving nutrients and room to the baby, the baby isn’t taking them. The mother is sacrificing, the baby is just accepting it. Besides, the mother, in 97% of the cases, chose to commit the act that would create the baby anyways.
