the way some people do it is like in luke 10 when jesus sent out the 70,

now days they go to the mall and ask people if they can pray for themā€¦
then they tell the person a bit of prophecy exhortation and confort,

it sure ā€“ is a ā€œwarm and fuzzyā€ way to introduce Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to strangersā€¦but i have not seen this done in the roman catholic ministry

it is kinda intimidating, trusting on the Holy Spirit to give you a word or do a healing

My partner and I have decided to take a different approach to spreading the Gospel instead of the traditional lecture. We have created a YouTube video series with a nun puppet that deals with morals, values, and church teachings. We call it ā€œGrettaā€™s Worldā€ and can be found on our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/WeVlog

This is the way. What an awesome way to spread the Gospel.

Here is the apostle Paulā€™s way to spread the gospel:

Ac 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (KJV)

What is the ā€œgospel of the grace of Godā€ that Paul preached?

Grace and Peace,

QC

i know it sounds like a simple question, but how do you preach and spread the Gospel? Cause everytime i try to preach i always come off as too strong, or sometimes even pushy. Also i donā€™t wanna sound like one of them ā€˜fire and brimstoneā€™ preachers and i donā€™t wanna sound like a Jehovah Witness, so how does one preach the Gospel Catholic style? I just feel called to preach Christ to all people.
actually if you can decern the Holy Spirits thoughts-- he will show or tell you what is relevant to that person or Group-

years ago when the prayer group i was involved with we would pray for a couple hours in the Spirit-- and God the Holy Spirit would tell us who we would meet and what we should say,
it seemed to be effective-- but this was a charismatic group- who believed and walked in it

Iā€™m catholic by the way, but I follow Tim Keller in his talks about the Gospels, Tim is presbyterian but Iā€™ve found the way he personalizes the gospels really inspiring in my imagination and my approach to biblical teaching, I know what you mean about being too heavy handed about teaching the Gospels, but if you really really study carefully Jesus Christ, he is gentle and has an approach of teaching where itā€™s do as I do, as well as say. One way of teaching the Gospels is by being an exemplar yourself, through your personal actions, so you may serve as an example to people. But be wary of being overly judgemental in a non-constructive sense, the scriptures says do not judge others or you will be judged by the same measure, so unless you are utterly perfect, one shouldnā€™t be overly critical. Strike the note of being instructive but caring. Rather then ā€˜just instructiveā€™.

Thing is, scripture is mixed, there is loveliness in it, as well as firm-ness. You have to strike the in-between. God Loves us, but we also have to live by his commandments, we submit ourselves and show our love by obeying them, just like children who love their parents, obey their parents wishes.

A person who evangelizes must know their own psychology, their own weaknesses, be honest about your weakness, use your own experience and bring it to bear with your expositions of scripture. Personalize scripture, personalize the psychology of Jesus Christ, you only know Christ through Scripture. So know it like the back of your hand.

Iā€™ve had catholics instruct me to go to confession after I had told them Iā€™d not been a long time, the way they said it sounded judgemental, like they were empowered by instructing me to go to confession. How do they know I needed to go to confession? A person will know by themselves through the power of the Holy Spirit whether they need to go to confession, and that person needs to feel sincere penitence before they take the sacrament in any meaningful way. So donā€™t take on an instructive tone, take one of using yourself as an example. Perhaps this is one approach you might take.Maybe, it wonā€™t scare away the pigeons.

Good luck.
