How do you talk to girls without looking awkward?

Also, do girls love men who can cook?! I mean, I know they tend to but personally, I don’t think they’d like me much since I’ve been called one of the worst cooks in history by my sister. One time, while my parants were away at work, I offered to make dinner so I decided to make some pasta. I:
  1. Put the pasta in a kettle.
  2. The sauce consisted of orange pepeprs, tomato sauce and corned beef 7 straight form the pan. When I saw it, I deliberately put as much parmesean as I could on it and even then, it tasted so horrible I happily went the whole evening not eating.
Also, I just made this all up, I’m kidding! My dad was the one who made that horrible sauce and no, he didn’t put the spaghetti in a kettle thank goodness. In all honesty everyone calls me a good cook. I’m the only guy who can make my sister eat and enjoy meat and my specialty is pasta really. I learn alot of my cooking skills from watching Chef John’s videos on you tube (the guy who owns foodwishes) and Gordon Ramsay’s videos. Favorite dishes have to be my mother’s spinach and cheddar pie, her tuna noddle casserole with bell peppers and any type of grilled meat which everyone at home absolutely loves. Least favorite foods have to be anything with corned beef which I hate with a passion and ketchup. I love tomatoes but I can’t stand the smell of ketchup. The only times I used it is to season my burgers.

Well, what do you guys and girls think?
what is this i don’t even

The same as talking to guys and making friends with them. Just to talk to them. You’ll never be friends with 99% of the guys you talk to, and you’ll never be friends with 99% of the women you talk to.

If you want to meet woman with similar hobbies, you need to connect with them somehow. Clubs, conventions, etc. would be a good way to start.
This is the way to go. Join a club in which you’ll have no choice but to talk to the girls. If you like sports for example, consider a co-ed sports team. You’ll have to talk to your partners sooner or later.
The most difficult part is meeting them. Once that is over, just be natural and I assure you that you will have many friends that are girls. Don’t worry about being awkward. Just be yourself

OK, I got carried away with this. To clarify, I can cok and I can cook well. In fact, I cook my families’ dinner every single day twice a day, one for my sister when she gets bak from school and the other for y parents when they get back from work. My question is the same though: do girls like men who can cook?

Also, reading some of the horror stories on myveryworstdate.com and myveryworstroommate.com, I can see why girl would love a guy who is actually nice unlike those selfish jerks who impose their rubbish habits on others.

Another question and one I take very seriously is this: do girls like it when men stand up to them? Lets say for example a girl was getting bullied in one way or another and a guy stepped in to stop her agressors from bullying her. I think they’d like that for obvious reasons but what if it was necessary to use physical force such as when they’re actually assaulting her or when if there is a very real danger someone would get seriously hurt? Note I am someone who has never gotten physical with anyone at all ever, not at school or outside. I’m just asking because I know most girls (and people for that matter) wouldn’t want their friends to get hurt or to even make themselves look bad.

At the same time, all these arguments and thinking made me extremely depressed but I think I matured a lot from them with Mary’s help. I avoid debates with atheists as much as possible though; I just can’t stand fanatics of any kind. What do you think Kamaduck and everyone?
I think your attitude is good. While I don’t like to shut out people who want to learn, those who only want to hurt me aren’t worth the time. I find it best to limit my activity in online forums so it doesn’t become too much to handle.

Depends on the girl, but since it’s a practical skill I think it’s almost always a plus.

Again, depends on the girl. Many girls would appreciate it, but many would not. On the one hand, she might be concerned for your safety or reputation- on the other, she might not like a guy assuming she needs help. Also, I would say you should only actively step in if it’s another guy doing the bullying. Female bullies can be just as hurtful, but you’ll just look like you’re butting in where you’re not needed unless physical danger is involved.

This is where I would draw the line. If people are going to get seriously hurt, (men or women, doesn’t matter) you stand up for them or you get help. I can’t guarantee they won’t get mad at you, but you will have done the right thing.

BVM,

OK guys, this is a really emberassing topic for me to talk about but, well, exactly what it says on the tin. How do I talk to girls in order to make friends with them? Note I am not saying that I’m looking for a girlfriend or that I’m interested in dating them although for reasons that are obvious I’m not against dating. Because frankly, I haven’t had much experience talking to girls and I want to make some friends and I don’t want to do soemthing that would make me look awkward/stupid/a jerk.

Thing is, I want to learn some more manners. I do consider myself well mannered at the risk of sounding boastful but I am confused on certain things. For one thing, is it rude to look women in the eye while talking? How do women think if a guy is being polite to them? In fact, one thing that I’m always scared of in part because I am very socially awkward is the fact that I may offend somone. What should I avoid when talking to women? In fact, is my thrwad itself offensive to any ladies here? These may seem like banal questions but I’m so confused I don’t think they are.

Also, I’m a pretty boring guy. I don’t have much of a social life and the only topics that really pique my interest are ones pertaining to morality, works of fiction (specifically anime) Catholic theology. However, what realy bothers me is that in a lot of anime shows, you often see a girl get disinterested in a boy because he only talks about himself. And they’re right, I don’t want to be the kind of guy who only talks about his own interests because it’s so inconsiderate. Rather, I think it’s better to talk about your own interests for a little bit if asked to and then you should ask the girl you’re talking to about her own interests.

What do you guys think? It’d be more helpful if a girl would actually comment though:o.
hey man i had the exact same thing but i gradually overcame it (still today) but i got a lot better. the main thing i did was do things i liked to do like weight lift, play hoops, run. i didn’t do things that i didn’t want to do that girls like to do like zumba class or some stuff like that.
but anyways by doing what you love people will be naturally attractive to you no matter what… and don’t worry about getting in a relationship it will just happen on its own no matter how many different people tell you to “pursue” or “attack”. i tried that…ended up falling flat on my face. when i did get a girlfriend it happened when i least expected it. so don’t worry God’s got a plan for ya! 🙂
