Oh yes sure!I’m not sure you understand your response to my post?
But you know, having a popcorn or burger social for the teens after Mass, that isn’t a bad idea.
There is a local parish that has an evening social after an hour of Eucharistic Adoration that is organized by and for the teens of the parish. Both Adoration and the social afterward are very well attended. After all, it is a time of life that can pose some serious spiritual “rapids”, a time when an hour spent in quiet with and before the Lord becomes a particularly welcome respite. After that, you get an hour with a bunch of other people your age who feel the same way!![]()
I am a Grandmother with a marvellous husband (convert from atheism 3 years ago). One of the things that touched him when he was on his journey was other people’s reverence. There is a saying that Faith is caught, not taught.
I remember when I was a teenager we had this feeling that we were left out - too young for some things and too old for other things. We felt neglected. Nobody understood us. We had so many problems!
When I see young people achieve a close relationship with the Lord I cannot resist telling them how fortunate they are. I firmly believe that ALL teens, when preparing for Confirmation should do a Life in the Spirit Seminar with a Charismatic group. Its sticks - it is transforming. It is necessary. Especially in our world today it is a huge, huge plus. Tell your priest this.
