I believe holy days of obligation should be celebrated on the actual day. I go to daily mass whenever I can. Celebrating on the holy days gives me another reason to go to mass. What was the reason for transfer the holy days to a Sunday?
I have a pre 1962 calender (think its called ordo calender) and I got it from an Anglican Catholic Church where I have to go if I want to celebrate the holy day on its actual day. They celebrated Epiphany on the Epiphany and actually had a vigil service on the 5th.
Come to think of it, the Anglican Catholic Mass is celebrated exactly like the preVatican II Mass and even has folks kneel at the rail for communion. The only difference it is said in what I consider ‘old english’ but I do like it.
I would like to purchase the 1962 missal so thanks to whoever it was that posted the link!
