How does something cross our mind?

Thoughts can come from God, the Devil, or ourselves. It is virtually impossible to know where a thought comes from, except in certain instances.

I agree, but often a thought will cross by mind that just blows me away. I believe that no way did that thought come from me.

Did you ever feel like you left a thought in another room, and you had to go back and get it?

Sometimes I wonder if our thoughts are actually anchored to our brains, or whether they simply float around it in some way that is unknown. I wonder if sometimes I walk into and pick up thoughts that other people have left behind, because I’ve also had that experience of thoughts that seem to come from nowhere, that are definitely not my thoughts.

That wasn’t the question.

For example, what if a thought comes into your mind in a language you don’t even speak?

Where did it come from? (Are you hearing radio signals at a sub-audible level?)

Some we do. I can consciously decide to find the sum, 4 + 8, and in this way I have consciously caused the thought, “twelve.”
