How does this happen?

Disagree. It would be better than the situation we see today, but what would be wonderful is if Muslims would stop being babies, using incidents like the one in the first video to stoke their false sense of victimization in places where they are in fact being coddled and bolstered beyond all reasonable measures, and would instead sincerely look inside themselves and their communities and ally themselves with the actually persecuted minorities who are oppressed and murdered in places where they themselves are the majority.

The attitude that we see here instead is one of false equivalency and haughty, delusional arch-victimhood that is completely out of proportion with reality.
Good point, but no point in asking for the impossible.

Well the first case would be an example of Free Speech. You don’t have to like it but it goes every which way.

That freedom you utilize here in the West to practice your religion is the same freedom that gives people the right to protest those beliefs of yours - whether justly or unjustly.
Yes, freedom of speech is how it happens. On the face of it, I reject the confrontational and inflammatory tone of the speech. I reject it as much as I reject sharia and the speakers POV the protesters were there to demonstrate against, based on the above links.
As a nation, we’ve already taken a collective stand with laws that permit people to have a say in public. Sometimes it isn’t pretty, such as Westboro Baptist, neo-Nazis, gay pride parades and other emotional issues.
A major reason why Islam is growing so rapidly in the United States…
That’s a myth.

I don’t see why not when they constantly and quite loudly demand the impossible from us (respect our religion even as we constantly denigrate yours, treat our prophet as we would like him to be treated or we’ll kill you, etc.), and disturbingly very routinely get it. Until Muslims learn that reciprocity requires them to do things too, I see no reason why they should not be held to the same standard that they hold others to. If they don’t want to meet it, then maybe having their Islamo-bubble popped every once in a while will teach them to shut up and learn to pick their battles.

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
(Matthew 22:36-40)

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.(Matthew 5:43)

Those who profess to be the followers of Jesus Christ (pbuh) need to actually follow what he has instructed them to do.

Are Muslim neighbors exempted from this commandment in the Bible?.. I am sure the Muslims featured in the 2 videos would dearly like to know.

Repeating…
What do you find so particularly interesting?
The half-wits who taunted the apparently equally dull muslim fellow are morons.
Memo to muslim fellow: next time you want to pray, pick just about any location other than in front of the WH, where there is a virtual parade of extremists 24/7-365.
What compelled you to “pray” there anyway?

Memo to hamba: do you understand the point I’m trying to get across?

A second point is a religious one – even Jesus didn’t care for folks that went about trying to appear pious in public. He suggested we pray in private, in fact.

Regarding the second vid, I think it’s already been established that the speakers were radical, anti-US jihadists. While I don’t approve of some of the protesters comments, I support their right to gather outside in opposition to the event.

Yes, we do follow what Jesus instructed us to do, we love our neighbours as we love ourselves. The problem lies with muslims who do not follow such a rule. They dont pray for others, just themselves, they are commanded to kill their own if they choose to leave islam, and the list goes on.
You dont even have freedom of speech in islam, look at what gaddafi is doing to his own people, killing them simply because they want freedom. (im only including this scenario since our muslim friends here love to blame Christianity for the things western countries do).
When muslims come to western countries, they are free to practise their beliefs, have freedom to follow their traditions etc, but, if a Christian moves to a muslim country, they are condemned and in no way allowed to practise worship out in the open, esp in places like SA.
So hamba, why arent other regions allowed to practise their own beliefs in sharia countries? I dont see the ‘no compulsion in religion’ working very well there…

Muslims pray 5 times a day and since the area in front of the White House is a public place, he has the 1st Amendment right to do so.

Taunting someone who is praying is however NOT a 1st Amendment right and so while the Muslim is not doing anything wrong to pray there, the people who are taunting him are indeed doing something which is morally wrong according to the teachings of Jesus Christ (pbuh) as written in the Bible.

As for appearing pious in public, does the Bible permit one to taunt his neighbor who do wish to pray in a public place for whatever reason?

It is very strange that Muslims say what Jesus said in the Bible was corrupt, but you use His words as truth to your cause. You need to follow what Jesus said,“let he is without sin throw the first stone.” Muslims have a lot more work to do in their "kill all unless you convert’ mentality.

Pope John Paul asked the world forgiveness for the past sins of the Catholic Church.

Have Muslims ever sinned against Christians and Jews?

If they have, can they publicly ask forgiveness?

Unfortunetly our culture has fallen so far that such things aren’t impossible here. All the relativists are only too happy to comply.

The fact that they can ask that of us as something plausable while we absolutely cannot ask it of them says something about our culture as much as it does theirs.

Actually it is a first amendment right, as the US Supreme Court ruled just a couple days ago.

Love the Muslim. Pray for the Muslim caught in a cult of death that will kill him if he trys to leave…

Romans 12
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Hate what is evil, Islam is evil.

Are you actually serious? Islam is martyring Christians by the truckload, and you going to snivel about a haggler?

Actually, taunting someone who is praying is, in a way, if not explicitly outlined in the first amendment, at least very much in keeping with what it is meant to protect (unpopular speech). It’s not nice, I don’t like it, I wouldn’t support it, but I also wouldn’t support the non-protection of it. If a Muslim (or a Christian, or a Hindu, or a Zoroastrian, or a whatever) is to have his right to pray in public, the public must also have their right to say “well, no, we don’t like that”, even if they say it in a stupid and offensive way. As long as no one is being physically harmed or goaded to violence (the whole “no yelling fire in a crowded movie house” standard), there is no first amendment grounds to your objection.

The first amendment is not designed to protect your feelings. Grow up.

Why would “Christianity” stop people from behaving like idiots? I could ask you a similar question: Why doesn’t Islam stop people like Choudry (who is, in your words, “a serious nutjob”) from advocating Shari’a law in non-Islamic countries? Why doesn’t Islam stop Osama Bin Ladin and his terror franchise from murdering innocent people of all religions? Why doesn’t Islam stop people from being violent and stoning to death 13 year old rape victims? Why doesn’t Islam stop the disenfranchisement and disempowerment of women that we see in countries where Muslims are the majority? Why doesn’t Islam stop Muslims from tearing down, torching, and otherwise defacing other peoples’ places of worship, as they have done to Christian churches and Buddhist temples across the East, and in certain places in Africa? Why didn’t Islam stop the Taliban from blowing up the Buddhas of Bamiyan? Why didn’t Islam stop Muslims from murdering Shahbaz Bhatti on Wednesday? Why didn’t Islam stop the horrible civil wars in Muslim-majority (nearly 100%) countries like Somalia and Afghanistan? Why didn’t Islam stop the killings in Egypt these past two Christmases, and the continued intimidation and brutalization of the native Egyptians at the hands of the sickos in the majority religion? Why doesn’t Islam stop the vicious genocide that is being inflicted on the Christians of Assyria by Muslim death squads RIGHT NOW? Why, why, why, why, why?

Perhaps a person’s religion cannot stop them from doing evil if they are convinced that whatever they are doing in the name of their religion is justified and good? Islam has no shortage of examples of this, both in the East and in the West. One-sided indignation rings hollow.
Instead of bashing all those who take the word of God out of context we should begin to move towards peace. We as Christians should begin to fully love one another. Mark 12:31 “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”. To create change we must take the first step towards peace instead of taking one step back and continuing this “my religion is better than yours” thing.
