A lot of the attitudes on this forum are terrible. The videos show people screaming at children and emitting all kinds of slurs.
Aren’t we Christians?..
We can disagree with Islam but not be cold about it. We can debate without being snide. Let’s try it.
Thank you for reminding of that, silyosha. I agree with the sentiments you express, and fundamentally reject the behavior directed at the muslim fellow praying.

I should have mentioned that had I been there, I would have stepped in. So would have most of us, I believe, just based on common manners, as the same laws that permit the muslim to pray allow others to yell their objections, however rude.
However, the discussion has gone beyond those basic principles.
The OP was a bit hypocritical IMO. One, the poster administers a muslim message board that, I believe, represses non-muslim political comments to muslims posts that frequently attack non-muslim societies. The poster has expressed a desire in the past to move to Saudi Arabia, not exactly a bastion of tolerance and free speech.
Two, there is another side to story.

Controversial speakers were featured at the event. An equally radical element of protesters split off from the main body of protesters blocks away, according to reports, and engaged in unacceptable behavior.
The OP wrote: "…why Christian people don’t speak out against it? How come Christianity doesn’t stop these people from exhibiting such hatred?
"Is that what this great country is becoming? A country of raving lunatics? "
Based on what I’ve mention, the poster’s indignation struck me as contrived.
“To infer we are a country of raving lunatics based on the rude behavior of half-wits who lurk on the street in front” of the White House – possibly the epicenter political/religious fanaticism – is plain disingenuous.
