Stop taking things out of context to support ideaology.
How am I taking things out of context? SST was the one who was calling Mary Magdalene a prostitute, even though that idea’s been debunked. Was that charitable?

Apparently college girls who decide to earn their grades on their backs instead of with their books are now victims. You learn something new every day.
I was talking about perception. Love how people don’t actually read responses.

Well, to be fair to SST, perhaps he didn’t know and didn’t read the previous post about that myth. It’s like how a lot of people used to believe that Columbus set sail to prove the world was round, not flat.

The choice is basically, what’s more important to you: the role or chastity. Sorry, but nobody died from not being an actor/actress.
I think the idea behind #metoo, is that no one should have to make that choice in the first place OR in many cases, there was no choice, just assault/rape. A person should be able to try for an acting role without having to choose between that and maintaining chastity. I see what you’re saying, in that if you are put in that position, the obvious choice should be chastity.

However, these predators who are abusing their power by forcing a choice to be made, need to lose their jobs/power for this kind of behavior rather than everyone being afraid of them or looking the other way because it’s the price to pay if you want to act in Hollywood.

Oh my GOSH. Just one journalist being a little extra and it has triggered another fruitless discussion here. Calm down people.

No-one here has downplayed the abuse of young boys and of men.
Surely the world revolves around pretty girls using good looks to succeed in higher education.
It shouldn’t. This is in part what Me Too is about.

I think you miss how people read your perceptions. Your “priest bashing” by making light of alter servers who were abused is sexist. Yes, sexist goes both ways just like racist.

You think I don’t know of many boys who have horrific MeToo stories to tell? Your yellow form of journalism implies that you have little or no compassion for male victims of rape and abuse. Surely the world revolves around pretty girls using good looks to succeed in higher education. You may need to watch the shopping carts roll by in Animal House to consider getting a clue about what your callous rejection and rancor identify about your sincerity.

Perhaps you are just trying to present yourself as a Maoist party player? In any case you need to be concerned about victims not just soap box about them. Do you have any idea how to get there?
…What? No, c’mon, what?

Seriously, where the heck do I even begin with this? I feel like the Decathlon moderator from “Billy Madison.”

The plot? This is the problem, the world is not a play although Shakespeare did well with this alliteration. Two of these victims I knew in my youth committed suicide. Was it because of self image eroded by the abuse. Who can say, really. Is it possibly a major part of the reason these young men died by suicide? Perhaps. But do I see a shopping cart used as a vehicle in Animal House as a humorous jot about date rape? Yes, I do, but see no humor in it. It is derelict beyond acceptance. Do you see it as funny?
Glee club girls making A’s in college getting just desserts in Hollywood imicry as the plot? Shakespeare again, now Macbeth, and let spot out he needs to go. Moreso the politicizing of true tragedy needs to change embedded cultural bias and attacks on basic human dignity. Maybe you need to thicken the plot before skirting over the resolution?

I believe your prediction has been validated at this point.

A lot of sexual assault claims are false (of course not saying all are but some). For example, many people started claiming that members of the Church (who started getting higher and higher in rank) had committed sexual assault against them as kids after stories came out about actual cases of this horrible crime. The false accusers did it to try to infiltrate and take down the Church.

Prediction that all ends in the well the rich man fell into in Topper?
Turning true tragedy in people’s lives into a meaningless computer #MeToo vicarious gaming moment to feel righteous and holy? Hollywood marketing sold on tragic assaults and disgusting abuses?
Where are the MeToo moments of the dead victims of abuse I knew or the many others with no voice? Just like killing unborn persons who have no voice to cry out, the biggest people are always right by gross size. Macchiavellian Christian ethos the future of secular humanism. How better could it end?
