Charting, testing, going to the doctors and taking supplements and medicines led us down an ugly path that I wouldn’t go down again for the world. It hurt my health, our marriage and I will never do that again. I’ve seen others divorce over this, and all because what once was a innocent pursuit of increasing the chances for pregnancy, turned into an ugly obsession that took over their well being and their marriage. This almost happened in our own, though God helped us to stop it before it got completely out of control. Praise God! But it took a huge step for us of giving up what little control we had in the doctors and medicines and charting and timing. We had to give up that control in order to allow God to take control of the situation.
I can’t honestly recommend that path to anyone else. Though, if you seek the morally acceptable treatments only you are doing nothing wrong.
I suggest doing nothing. Sure living a healthy life, eating right, exercise, taking a vitamin, engaging in regular marital relations all those things you would normally do for your health and that of your marriage. But nothing above and beyond that.
Letting go and giving the situation to God, we have a healthy, happy marriage now. That is priceless in my mind. And to think, I was willing to give that up, just so I could ‘try harder’ to have a baby that God obviously wasn’t wanting us to have yet. So yeah it could have gotten to be no baby and no husband.
Contrary to what others have said, giving it all up to God didn’t give us a baby. But it did give us complete restoration of health and strength and peace to our marriage. My personal health is still in cahoots but I’d far rather have that than a sickly marriage. I also realize that that time of obsession could have done permanent damage to my reproductive health, and health in general. This though has helped us to realize that we are most likely called to adoption and we are quite happy and a peace with that thought. Before we married we made an agreement to adopt one child during our lifetime, now that is just coming into play a lot sooner than we originally intended.
Of course we keep trying and remain open to life, as we always have. And enjoying the freedom of loving without the pressure of timing, charting, doctor’s orders or medicines. And the best part of all is that God is now in complete control, not us. With Him in control, we know that whatever happens is His will, and it won’t be further hurting my health or our marriage during the time of wait.
I feel so much for you. :console: Hang in there. You can private message me if you need/want to talk further.
