I read that for certain things a person must be a Catholic “in good standing”. My question is, how is this verified? I ask specifically because me and most of my friends are in a position with little money and a lot of moving around. This tends to make us fairly off the grid as far as the church is concerned. Little money means donations, if they happen, are usually a couple times a year rather than weekly. Moving around means that we might end up bouncing between churches a lot due to frequent moves and various trip around the country. I’m wondering if this could end up being an issue for choosing a confirmation sponsor, since there would be no way to confirm things like Mass attendance?
