nevertheless, our purpose here is not to win arguments. It is to win souls.
That is one of the biggest problems with threads like this. The need to “win”, the competitiveness that takes over.

Everything just starts falling thru the cracks, people stop listening, stop being charitable, etc etc.

I have yet to see the Mormon bashing actually bare any good fruit…It just keeps circling around around around around around around

Nothing productive. 🤷

Why does it seem like you folks are at each others throats? We should be united in Christ, not arguing amongst ourselves. This is the will of the devil, to divide us and seperate us from Christ. Who cares if peoples feelings are hurt for hearing the truth. If they really thought their religion was true, they wouldnt be hurt.

That is THE problem. You fail to see anything productive, but what productive comes from your continued posts? You fail to see anything productive, yet you keep reading the threads.

And you say there is LDS bashing when all ANYONE has done is post truth. No name calling, no bashing…just truth.

and say what you will…but truth is productive.

Be Blessed

What bashing? I have not seen anyone bash a person here. Ive seen the truth be told and people get upset. Sometimes one must use tough love to get their point across because its falling on deaf ears.

For every hell fire and damnation quote you produce, I can produce the peaceful alternative. 😃 I don’t think that is because there is one right or wrong way. I don’t think there is one way. Let the Spirit lead you.

I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to be a clanging symbol. If someone wants to take over that job, you’re welcome to it. Besides, if Mormon apologetics is so convincing to someone, it’s their own fault for not employing at least a small measure of critical thinking. Reap what you sow, is what I think. Garbage in garbage out. I used to think posting on an internet forum could make a difference. I’m losing that belief, going the way of delusions, along with Mormonism itself.

But, there is always St. Francis who said (paraphrasing) “always teach the gospel, and if necessary use words”. I think we see this in practice in Pope Francis. I’m moving more and more towards thinking I’d rather do the same.

And for every saying of peace you can post, I can post:

“Let us return from that Table like lions breathing out fire, terrifying to the devil!”
St. John Chrysostom

“He that sees another in error and endeavors not to correct it, testifies himself to be in error.”
Pope Leo I

and many others. I am not willing to say these guys are wroing and did not follow God’s will or teaching.

Are you?

is anyone?

It seems a bit of a stretch to go from disagreeing over the proper application of words like cult and heretic, to claiming that others are contending that there is no real right and wrong. After all, some who disagree with the heretic label were convinced that enough was wrong with Mormonism that they left that church.
This.

I don’t think they are wrong. I’ll leave the fire breathing to you. 🙂 Personally I think LDS are conditioned to tune it out faster than you can say “Bob’s your uncle.” But I don’t fault you for trying.

Bob IS my uncle. Seriously.

I do not consider myself a fire breather., I just tell the truth and let people ignore it or accept it. Not everyone likes my style…but not everyone liked Jesus’ style, or Peter’s style either.

It is just me being me. I would help anyone who asked me, if I could. I let a home less kid live in my house for three years and am adopting an adult girl who has no family and has cancer.

But I do not back down on truth. I do not butter it up. That is just how I am made.

I haven’t seen tough love. I’ve seen fruitless efforts. 🤷

It being tuned out at the very least. Feeding the “we-are -being-persecution” complex, thus re-enforcing their ideas, at the very most.

Either way, fruitless.

truth is never fruitless. Jesus did not care who He offended. He spoke truth. If it fell on deaf ears, he advised how to handle that.

When you start feeling truth is fruitless, you start watering it down.

And soon you are singing kumbaya

TK, I’ve never viewed what you post as untruthful or mean. I enjoy your posts and especially your wit. We went off into “heretic”, which, is pointless. Heretics or not, there is true, and there is false.

I hope you are having a good Easter.

Rebecca
