I think that as Catholics, we understand decency.

If someone else hadn’t discovered it, characterized it and communicated it to you, what would you know about it? A lot of people would be dying of pneumonia and you’d have no idea why.

It says something bad about a political movement if they take pride in calling things in a field by names that no one actually working in the field would use.
If someone came along and started making up theological terminology or legal terminology, it would say something about them besides their politics.
(Please do not tell me you don’t think a real Republican would use actual scientific terminology instead of pulling a name out of wherever the whim hit them.)
