And I am not even talking about his claims of Aaron and Mechizadek…
According to the Book of Mormon, Nephi and family left Jerusalem and came across to somewhere between Jersusalem and the Planet Krypton and developed a society that, as we have discovered, had millions of people and huge cities and splendiferous battles…that all evidence of vanished from the face of the earth.
But here is a puzzling thing…Nephi was Jewish (despite his invention of reformed Egyptian when he arrived to somewhere between Jersusalem and the Planet Krypton). First, every Jew knew that there was ONLY one Temple. No Jew in his right mind would ever consider making a new temple. There was only one. No matter how far away you lived from the temple, you went to THE temple. Yet Nephi, being the good Jew he was, took it upon himself to build a temple that rivaled the size of the one he left behind (of course, there is no evidence of that structure, either). Does that sound like something a good Jew would do? Of course, the CoLDS response is that God told him to. Always a convenient reply. Yet, did God do that? There is nothing in the Scriptures to indicate God wanted or needed another temple.
Next, we come to the Priesthood. First, though the LDS claim to resemble the early Church, they have a Melchizedech Priesthood that no one ever heard of, other than a couple of mentions of the name. The early books of the Bible go into great detail about the Aaronic Priesthood and who could have mit, what they had to do, when they had to do it, etc. Yet, God was strangely silent about this other Priesthood that apparently existed at the same time.
But, back to Nephi…all of a sudden, we have Nephites doing Priestly duties. But how? God was VERY clear…only a descendant of Aaron could do those duties. The Nephites were not from Aaron. That is, unless I was taught wrong in the MTC, by every LDS teacher, and by every Bishop, mission president, etc.
Temple workers today in LDS temples are not descendants of Aaron. More corruption.
Now, I know, the LDS will say God told them change it. How wonderful to have a god that you can mold to fit whatever you want to believe and do! Of course, this is the same “god” who told BY that Adam was god, that told the Mormons to be racist, then changed his mind when it became bad, etc…
So, again, Joseph corrupted the priesthood for his own benefit. This, in addition to the plethora of other evidence we have displyed, shows Joe did NOT have the authority from God to do ANYTHING!
