How long should it take to decide to marry?

I’d like to see the sources of that information (I don’t doubt the validity of the data, I’d just like to examine it). However, correlation is not causation.

Did the studies account for the possibility that the very same characteristics that provided a predisoposition to an earlier death also made it more difficult for those same people to get married?

That is, that perhaps they didn’t die earlier because they didn’t get married, but that they didn’t get married because of factors which lead to an earlier death.
