I don’t have any but I love other people’s children very, very much. Ran into a family of 7 little girls the other day. Heather, Lily, Violet, Rose, Zinnia, Daisy and Iris!

Blessings, Chochy
Those names are just TOO precious! 🙂

When I answered this poll a few years ago,we had 6 blessings on earth and I can say we will end up with the same amount.
Ages range from 20-7 years now.

Before I truly understood the beauty of being open to life, I would shake my head in disbelief as my Aunt would announce a pregnancy over and over again. She had 9 kids.

My uncle was a deadbeat, so I couldn’t believe she kept on getting pregnant. Eventually she became too embarrassed to admit the pregnancies until she was about 6 months.

What do you all think about having lots of kids when one does not have a supportive husband?
Something worth asking…is she really aspiring to have a big family regardless of the obstacles (in that case her husband) or is she having many kids coz she denies birth regulation should be moral?
Having more kids in such a difficult case could be based on different reasons and I’m not denying that it could simply be her preference 🙂

I answered 4, but I also adopted 2 children but only had them for 2 years & then they went back to their biological families. We were their foster parents. Of the 4 I raised, 2 are biological, 2 are adopted. I also lost 4 children before birth. I guess you could say I have 10, but it gets murky!! Of my 4, only 3 are living, as one son died at age 27 in 2005. I love being a mom & would have had many more if circumstances had allowed. I have 5 grandchildren that I am very close to, so in a way I am still mothering, just in “grand” style now!! 😉

Just one. Been hoping for another for about 8 years now, but for whatever reason, it appears that we will only have one.

She died at the age of 56 from breast cancer. But the only reason she stopped having kids was because her fertility gave out in her early 40’s.

I had asked her as a teen why she didn’t use birth control and I think the reason was a combination of openness to life (she was pentecostal) and because her husband did not like the feel of barrier methods. She might have been trying the calendar method.

That would be difficult. I’m not sure if I admire her for her toughness, or resent her for her foolishness. I’m assuming he blew all the money he made gambling or drinking perhaps? How did your aunt get by with no money?

I voted six counting the one we’re expecting in September. We do have one in heaven from a miscarriage also.

The woman must be incredibly strong to pull it off. But with God’s help everything is possible.

To answer the poll: 2 kids for now.

A year and a half old son, who looks and acts just like his old man.

Wow! I think Zinnia got ripped off on her name, but cool that there are 7 of them. Except when they start getting married…

None. And don’t want any. One miscarriage is enough. And advised to not get pregnant again by my doctor. So DH and I are childfree (I prefer “childfree” to “childless”. I don’t need pity).

We have two kitties at home. Which I love more than life self.
I have 2 kitties too! You should check out their pics on my album. They are my joy.

I’d like to have a ton more, but husband says not until we get a bigger place and have more financial stability lol.

None right now, but my husband and I do want children. Things have been hectic job-wise and financially. I feel like things are starting to fall into place though. If we were to have a child we would certainly welcome him/her, but we do not want to actually try to have a child until things stabilize a bit.

We have been using NFP to avoid conceiving and it works really well. I even went through a few months where I had to ABSOLUTELY avoid getting pregnant for medical reasons. I was matched to donate stem cells to a man with a very serious form of leukemia and I could not take the medication to mobilize my stem cells if I was pregnant. The transplant was canceled. His doctor decided to go with a different course of treatment. It’s okay though. Just being there so that his family would know there IS a match if he needs one was good enough for me. I really marvel at the way NFP can help me avoid pregnancy without contraceptives so that I could be there for someone just in case he needed my stem cells. Join the Be the Match Registry if you meet the health requirements. It’s pretty awesome.

Sorry for the bone marrow tangent! I went a bit off track. 🙂
