I do have some females that I can have good conversations with, but I just don’t work with them. On the other hand, maybe deep conversations aren’t really appropriate in the work place anyway. I do often feel left out though…and bored. None of these people seem to have anything interesting going on in their lives.Yeah, they come around with their boyfriends/husbands every now and again, but for the most part they have no interest in staying up to see the midnight release of the new Iron Man movie, or going to a sports bar to watch yet another football game, or creating characters to play through a new fantasy D&D setting, or having a halo tournament. I’m pleasant with them, but I have more in common with their boyfriends (who I’ve been friends with for years), and yep, I’ve noticed that a lot of their conversation revolves around TV, and like you, I don’t have cable.
And maybe it’s because I’ve always had mostly male friends, but I feel far more comfortable having deep conversations with them and sharing with them than I do women. Of course now that I’m getting married there are definite boundaries there.
