In order to get a quote to show up in your signature you have to go to Profile (at the top), then “control panel” then “edit signature” and then you can add your quote.

To add a photo:

If the picture is on a web server
(such as might be found via the Google Image Search):

To add an image to your post, the bb code is:
/***]
(where the *** is replaced with IMG)

If the picture is on your personal computer:

The image can be uploaded as an attachment to a post.
Below the post creation/editing box, you will find “Additional Options.”
In the “Attach Files” group, click the “Manage Attachments” button.
A pop-up window allows you to specify the file on your computer that you want to upload.
After specifying a path to your image file, click the “Upload” button.
A thumbnail of your attached image will then be automatically generated for display in your post.

thanks…🙂 but i have no idea what you mean by all that stuff you said about adding a photo…

what is “bb code” and all that??

Didn’t you ask Pete how he added his photo in his signature?

Not sure exactly what a bb code is–I think it’s this stuff that makes CAFs makes your posts fancier. You can either click on those little icons at the top, or you can type it in.

So, for example, if you want to make a sign like this:
[sign]The Catholic Church is the One True Church![/sign]

all you have to do is highlight it and then click on that little icon at the top that has a smiley face holding a sign.

Or you could type this: [sign]The Catholic Church is the One True Church!/ ***]
(where *** is replaced with “SIGN”)

Another example: if you wanted to type this:
You -]know/-]* think you know* the Catholic Church’s teachings.

All you have to do is highlight the word and then click on the icon that has ABC with a line through it.

There! Clear as mud? 😃

bb code is a set of simple commands that can be read by Bulletin Board (hence “bb”) software. The pattern is square bracket, command, square bracket, the stuff that the command applies to, square bracket, back slash (the back slash signifies that a command is coming to an end), command (this tells the back slash which command is coming to an end), and finally, square bracket.

So, for example:

My text http://mypicture My link

except without the spaces. 🙂

You can play around with it in the “preview” window to see what kinds of things work, and what you can do.

Yes, I agree with your assessment 100%.

Anyway, I am done. In my many years on the forum and in my many dealings with lots of different folks I have put only one other lady on “ignore.” :sad_yes:
I have wanted to do that too, since Tweety doesn’t really seem to ponder any posts that disagree with her POV. But nevertheless, I feel compelled to correct the misrepresentations she puts out there.

OMG, yes! I’d never thought about articulating it that way–but you’re right! When the argument becomes too close to the truth–which hurts sometimes–if you call the messenger “uncharitable” it makes you not have to focus on the message.
exactly… and its amazing how childish people can be when they disagree w/ you…

the weird thing is… they don’t DIS agree all the time… I mean, sometimes thye have NO argument against waht you are saying, yet they attack you relentlessly anyway… maybe that is Pride??? not wanting to admit that someone else may know something you don’t… or whatever? i don’t know… all i know is it gets tiresome…

it seems like its some kind of fad these days… to act about as immature as you possibly can…

yes, i am guilty of childishness at times… to some extent… in certain situations… but i dont generally attack people w/ ad hominem ad nauseum just cuz i disagree w/ them… I try to stick to the concepts being discussed… yet even so, i get accused of being “uncharitable”… wish someone would define that term so we could all be completely and absolutely and forever perfectly free of “uncharitable-ness”

:hmmm:
