How many of you are alone this holiday weekend?

I live with a cat, so I’m never really alone (LOL). I did see a friend today and will see my parents and possibly other family members Monday.

I’m an introvert so I enjoy spending time by myself. I read, play Sims, listen to the radio, and watch TV. Right now I am watching the Twins game.

I work 40 hours a week so I enjoy my off time. I don’t have to go back to work until Tuesday.

I can be either an introvert and extrovert? What is Sims?? Oh gosh, another ball watcher!! :ouch: 😃 You and Kendra will get along just fine talking sports!!
 
Me too I’m an introvert but strangely I love people in one’sand twos.

Have you read that recent book? Its great for us! I think it’s called ‘quiet’.

I have a real need for a lot of peace and quiet.
 
We can end up having so many messages that we just can’t take in any more!
Kind of like the message inbox here.

In real life I grow in silence like a plant in the sunshine !
 
I do love silence don’t get me wrong. Especially in the mornings when my brain is trying to adjust waking up to a world again. But in the afternoons, I like to hear some human interactions especially on the telly.

Yea, it kinda sucks, but just gotta make the best of it, I guess. I’m planning to go into the city tomorrow to attend Mass and go to a museum by myself. Gonna stay home on Monday, and probably will need to do some work.

I love museums! What kind of work do you do? Or are you talking housework? 😃
 
Well I kind of fit in this group.

I am very blessed to have a husband.

But, other than that we are all alone.

My husband works long hours to make ends meet, so I don’t get to see him too often sometimes. What little family we have left lives two states away, most of mine has passed away. We cannot have children due to infertility. I can’t keep friends (except my husband) because of my severe mental illnesses. So the infertility, far away family, and mental illness keep me rather isolated except for the blessed time when my husband is actually home.

So am I in?:confused:

The Memorial Day holiday has been so twisted to have lost all meaning of it’s original intent to be honest.

If you want to celebrate, really celebrate, Memorial day, go to your local cemetary or mosoleum and place an AMerican flag at the grave site of an American veteran.

Memorial Day is about, or should be about, it’s original intent (much like Christmas and Easter IMO). Honor those who died in war to service to our country.

THAT IS MEMORIAL DAY!

Amen to that! That is what it was supposed to be about in the beginning! We should honor our veterans. Our soldiers who have fought and died for their country. It is not about BBQs, seeing family, or partaking of outdoor activities.

I’ve always kind of lumped all the deceased into memorial day. Like a day to remember all who have died. I guess it’s because I grew up protestant, we didn’t have an all saints/all souls day. 😛
