I only meet girls that are interested in hooking up at bars.

You think you’re the only religious person whose ever been to a bar? 🤔 you’ve probably met dozens of religious people in bars, you just didn’t realize it because it’s not something people typically discuss in that context.

Time to find better bars.

Actually you’d be surprised at how often religion comes up as a topic. Most people I meet aren’t religious and I know that because we talk about it

Maybe people just don’t want to discuss something as heavy as religion when they’re trying to unwind in a bar on Friday night?

I dunno, at least where I live, going to the bar on Friday/Saturday night is a pretty universal thing for single young people. Conservative/liberal/religious/atheist/gay/straight whatever. It’s not limited to one particular demographic.

The last time I got a buzz on at a bar (private party with open expensive whiskey bar) I ended up in a discussion of whether Pope Francis was a Communist. It was civil but I could get the same thing cheaper by just opening a bottle of Bushmills at home and going on CAF.

yeah I didn’t have any luck last night, maybe I’m getting too old for visiting bars doya think?

Would pay for transcript of tipsy bear analyzing Pope Francis.

I so wish I’d been a fly on the wall for that conversation. LOL

Trying to remember what tipsy bear said. Tipsy bears tend to let the other person run on and just say “Uh-huh” and “Oh, I know” a lot.
I think I may have said something about the Church always being socialist in terms of sharing the wealth or something non-committal like that, after waving my Miraculous Medal around.
Yeah, that was it. Something like Pope Francis wasn’t any different from the last 3 Popes in that respect.

I do remember after that I left and felt in such a good mood I woke up a homeless man who was on the sidewalk in a sleeping bag to give him 5 dollars and chat about his life.

Same here. It is right down the block from me and has the best bar food, including a $2.50 burger night special. I am comfortable going there myself and bellying up to the bar. Maybe it is a Midwestern thing.

That’s a good idea but I’m the definition of an awkward dancer.
All the more reason to take a class. 😜

Bars aren’t my chosen destination for social activity. I go very rarely and I don’t think it has ever been my own idea to go.

As long as it’s not a Sodom and Gomorrah place -
So if Jesus - returned - and there you were -
Two out in the field - one taken - one left -
I hope when Angels separate us - it church people from bar people !
Drunk goats - from the lambs grazing -

I used to belong to a supper club at my old work place.

We sometimes went to pubs but we usually were there for the excellent food and beer. We went in groups.

You know, they’re often the same people. Just ask the attendees at the wedding at Cana, where Jesus literally created more wine so people could keep partying.

On a serious note, your post, which appears to be some sort of haiku, gives the impression that you think you’re superior to “bar people.” It’s not a good look, friend.

Yes - I am much superior -
They’re drunk - and inside those walls !
I’m sober - and go to church.
Please.
That’s a H U G E difference.

Jesus and friends - were celebrating a love - of a couple -
A wedding - between a man and a woman.
It’s nice to have some Cana wine then , 😇

I guess but I can see how they can attract a bad crowd.
It honestly depends on which bar you go to, and/or what time of day.

If it’s a singles bar, then they can get pretty crazy. Or if it’s a bar at 1AM on the weekend, then that can be pretty crazy too.

But some bars are simply neighborhood bars where people relax, have a pint and chat with each other. These neighborhood bars and the kind that you might occasionally run into a priest at.

God bless!

Is this being translated from Chinese to Sanskrit to English by babelfish?

Unless this is actually a haiku, in which case, well done.

I don’t go to bars too much anymore; I need to say away from alcohol due to a genetically bad liver. Plus, I honestly don’t have the money anymore to frequent happy hour.

God bless
