KoolDood,
I’m assuming you are refering to the Latin Rosary CD. If that is your question, then here is the answer; www.promultismedia.net

They have many great CD’s and DVD’s.

I felt very bored and rushed through it at first, and couldn’t keep from being distracted by all the other things I could be doing. The second day was the same, but less so. The third, I couldn’t wait to do it. Satan does all he can to keep us from praying this powerful prayer, and it is one of our greatest weapons against him. Give it a try. You can make room to say it daily if you wish.
It’s not really that I find it boring or anything. I actually deem it important if the occasion demands for it and would scold myself for not focusing (then again, I have a hard time focusing on a lot of things in general, not just religious stuff :o).

It’s really more of that feeling fake and hypocritical that keeps me from doing it. It’s just not me. There’s just so many things about myself that would reflect badly on the Church if I ever exhibited extra-pious behavior. I’m happy just sticking to the political positions and contemplating the moral philosophy of Christianity. Spirituality on the other hand well… let’s just say the option of putting myself to the Saint-standard is just too high and too many. >_>;;

By Rosary, you mean the 15 decades (from the Joyful, Sorrowful, & Glorious Mysteries), right? I think the Rosary is commonly thought of as being only 5 decades of any of the Mysteries.

I pray the Rosary 5 days out of the week. Sometimes, when I have time I’ll pray the 5 decades from the Luminous Mysteries in addition to the Rosary.

Good to know you realize its importance. Focusing is the least of the problems. Don’t beat yourself up about it! Everyone can lose focus, the point is to put your heart into it when you do it. If you gave it up because you tend to lose focus once in a while, you’d be giving up a LOT of things in your life. 😛

I don’t understand exactly what you mean by feeling “fake and hypocritical”. I’d hope it’s not because it’s prayer, which is something we all must do. Perhaps you see the Rosary as “extra credit” (therefore something you don’t really need)? It’s true you’re not obligated to say it, I just wonder what you meant by that.

Remember that we’re ALL called to be saints. That doesn’t mean everybody has to turn into a visible saint like the ones canonized, because there’s many saints who go unknown. Everyone in heaven is a saint (thus why we have “all saint’s day” in a few days), so it’s what we should be aiming for.

I’d encourage you to give the prayer another try. 😉

I started since late last year, saying the rosary daily thanks to rosaryarmy.com/
I didn’t know where to start, so instead I followed along with them. Eventually I also made my own knotted rosary using their instructions (very pretty).

At first it was exercise along with the rosary daily, to keep me in shape and to separate a time where I’d always say the rosary. Now I don’t always do it with exercise and I can also say that I’ve gained a lot from it.

I also feel bad on the days I don’t pray it because I kept pushing it back. It’s not because I didn’t pray it but the reason why I didn’t. We can always make time for prayer if we really tried. If you’ve really got “no time”, there’s the commute, you can break it up in parts and say it throughout whatever breaks you may have. I hope those days of “I’ll do it later” are over (or at the very least that I DO say it later).

Hi everyone,
I pray the rosary daily but often miss weekends when my routine changes.
It took a long time for me to really learn the rosary… the mysteries, especially. At first, I needed a lot of visual reference. For this I downloaded virtual rosary at virtualrosary.org
This was a tremendous help. Everything fell into place as I was able to achieve a far greater focus in order to contemplate the mysteries. The MP3 download I tried made me feel rushed where as virtual rosary has you click each bead, so you pray at your own pace with both visual and text to help you along each mystery. Virtual Rosary also has a Divine Mercy Chaplet and Novena option which I now pray daily… It’s a great program and it’s free.👍

Oooops… forgot to mention the most important thing! By praying the Rosary often, I’ve never felt such peace. It has brought calm to a hectic life… a higher level of understanding our faith. It is life changing in every way I wanted my life to change. It made me a better person… although, still plenty of room for improvement… we are all a work in progress. The Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet are devotions with tremendous benefits… Pray, Pray, Pray!..okay, what are you waiting for?.. 🙂

Yeah that’s kind of what I mean. Praying in general is something I do when it calls for it such as prayer before meals, prayer before class (I attended Catholic schools so we did this all the time).

Praying with the level of piety and devotion as a daily Rosary on the other hand… it’s just not me. >_>;;

I would pray it everyday if someone close to me would constantly request I join them but… I just can’t do it of my own volition. >_<;;

I’m the kind of guy who just has a lot on his mind all the time… and the lot that’s on my mind isn’t exactly what you’d expect a saint to have, much less entertain. -_- Make no mistake, I’m not talking about lust. I just… brood a lot.

I usually try to say at least two sets of mysteries every day on the way to work…I even take a long way around so I can finish them. On my day off, I really try to say all 5 sets of mysteries. I find that by doing so on the way to work, as opposed to listening to the radio as I used to do, puts me in the right frame of mind and spirit to give my best efforts for Our Lord, my family, my company, and my customers. I’m not getting to the store(Major Retailer, Major Appliances) with anger or attitude any more.
I also try to consecrate each day to Our Lord, and Mother Mary! I don’t ever want to let either of them down again!!! I’ve done so enough times in my 59 years.

Eve_Maria you took every word out of my mouth. I learned how to pray on the Virtual Rosary program as well. I have it on my computer at work so I don’t really have an excuse if I miss praying a day during the week. Like you my routine changes and I have a hard time on Saturday but usually make up for it on Sunday.

Then you’re EXACTLY the kind of person that would benefit a lot from the Rosary. 😉 So your mind isn’t exactly clean, big deal. We’re a church of sinners, it’s a hospital for the sick. That’s why we come to the Lord, to ask for His grace to help us leave our vices and sins because we can’t do it alone.

You (and me and the rest of the world) need more quiet time, so why not try to pray the Rosary to meditate on Jesus’ life instead of giving yourself time to brood? With prayer, there’s nothing to lose and everything to gain. 👍

If it’s hard to start, do as I did and download an audio rosary to pray along with (in my case it was www.rosaryarmy.com) In the case of rosary army they have two versions of each set of mysteries (the short ones last 20 minutes, the other adds a bit of scripture between each Hail Mary and can last from 25 to 29 minutes).

Anyway, I don’t mean to pressure you. I’m just suggesting that taking Mary’s helping hand to guide you closer to her son. 😃 Whenever you’re ready, she’ll be waiting.

I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way but I feel really bad or even guilty if I miss praying the Rosary and Divine Mercy.

Actually, I’ll admit I just recently started learning to pray the Divine Mercy. I say to St. Faustina, " Don’t laugh at me if I’m praying this wrong."

God bless,
goforgoal

Don’t worry, there is no wrong way to pray. If you are earnestly praying, you are doing it right, no matter what words you are saying.

I saying it every day. About a year after I converted, I decided to see how long I could go without ever missing my daily Rosary. That was over 10 years ago and I haven’t missed a day yet. 🙂

OOPS!!! I meant, of course all FOUR sets of mysteries…my 4 inch wide fingers hit the wrong key again…sorry!:rolleyes:

I do try to say the rosary each day but will admit to failures here. I always feel badly when I realize…OH! That’s what I missed.

Here’s a question: I often say it while walking my two dogs and actually time the walk by how long the Rosary takes us. I turn around at the end of the 3rd decade and finish up just as we reach the front door. Do any of you think this is wrong? I am normally alone, and if my son is with me, he and I will say it together while we walk.

Should I be saying it, say, in the living room? Or in the privacy of my bedroom?

I have also occasionally said the virtualrosary and have found that to be an excellent tool in my prayer life.

So long as the purpose of the Rosary isn’t to serve as a “clock”, then I don’t see why not. 😉

Not everyone has the time to do it in a quiet place like their bedroom, but still find the time to pray it (like on the commute). So I’d think it’s fine.

I say the rosary as often as I can ( many times imperfectly ) with the hope of gaining
indulgences to put in Heaven’s treasury for the benefit for the souls in Purgatory, and all those here on earth, who have no one to pray for them. You’d be surprised at the peace, joy, and satisfaction it brings to me.

PAX DOMINI :signofcross:

Shalom Aleichem

I pray the Rosary but need to make a better commitment to say it daily…something for me to work on 🙂
