I used to be Famous here… I’m washed up now.

That can be good once in a while. What type of techniques do you usually use to get suspended? 😃

Much less than I used to since the appearance was revamped. I find the site rather irritating to navigate now and I find it hard on the eyes. I’m sure those who spend a lot of time on other social media sites (which I do not) love the change though.

It’s for Regular status Members ONLY. Once you’re Suspended, you’ll never become a Regular again.

That’s actually not true. None of us know what the requirements are for the lounge, but there have been regulars who were given that status after suspension.

Two things:
  1. The administrator can change the requirements as they wish.
  2. Yes, I could provide names, but I don’t see any value in discussing exactly who has been suspended and who has not on the public forums, and it might even be against the rules.

That would explain the confusion and overall inconsistency. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m not asking for that information. Do Not insinuate that I am. I’m not saying that you’re wrong; however, there’s no apparent way to verify your statement.

Not too much lately. Mostly just check in to read the favorite Bible quotes and favorite Catholic quotes threads. I much prefer spending my reading time on books.

“Regular” trust level is Discourse Level 3. Although discourse, looking in Google, has defined rules for how much activity is required etc, each individual forum user (e.g., Catholic Answers) can customize the requirements. The exact requirements for us is not made known.

Regular status requires ongoing activity. You can lose that trust level by not posting enough, people not liking your posts, having your posts flagged too much, or getting yourself suspended.

There are some regulars who lost their regular status and subsequently regained it. I can think of perhaps 10 people who this has happened to. The majority of the time, this is due to lack of activity. For instance, one member didn’t post during lent, lost regular status but then regained it a couple months after Easter. I can think of 2 instances where someone was suspended, but later regained regular status.

I can also think of a few members who lost regular status due to suspension, and even though very active, never regained regular status. Why? I don’t know.

At present, there are 99 regulars, including 11 or 12 Discourse Staff, the mods, discobot etc. Go to badges to find out who has what status. The highest it has ever been is 126. My guess is if you have been suspended multiple times, or if you get flagged often enough, you never get in.

Good question !
I’m around 3-4 hours a week.

I like glancing through topics during my breaks at work - esp.

You find CAF to be too liberal?

Interesting.
I think each person’s perspective depends largely on who they get into debates with on a regular basis. If you spend a lot of your forum time going back and forth with the same couple of posters you always disagree with, then it can seem like the forum is overrun with people who hold the opposite views that you do.

As for the OP’s question, the most accurate answer is “too much.” 😳 It varies depending on how much I have going on in other areas of life. I haven’t been on as much lately. Too much to do at work and at home. Of course, sometimes that causes me to check CAF more as it serves as my mental break from everything else. 😁
