How often do miracles occur?

Well, if he didn’t, we can no longer claim God to be omniscient, can we?
Differences in what we wish to call miraculous, but I do not believe a real significant difference in what it ultimately is.

Ultimately we are held here, with the rest of creation, by an act of pure will.

Yes, but that it is not the point either Tony of myself are trying to make by arguing whether or not God intervenes in the day to day running of the world.

So apart from holding each of us in existence each and every day, along with every single atom in creation…what else is God up to?
😉

Well, on Mondays there’s general meeting with the archangels and the apostles, he listens to the angelic choir on Tuesdays and on Wednesdays he plays chess with the Devil…

Escapism is by far the most asinine term I have heard you use. Escapism isn’t for those who lack imagination or originality, or solely used to escape one’s own reality. It is a way to see the world through different glasses!!
Escapism is the way to self-destruction because reality doesn’t conform to induced illusions…

Pretty much retired, I think. Most all of the things traditionally attributed to God can be explained as caused by natural forces - from storms to earthquakes to tsunamis to diseases. We know that the victory of an army or sports team is due to better training and execution, that storms are caused by low and high pressure systems, and diseases by pathogens. God doesn’t intervene where clearly needed to prevent unthinkable suffering and isn’t needed at all for all the things attributed to him in the past. We wish him a good retirement and hope (pray?) for an explanation…

Providence has been continuous since the first day, as long as God’s personal superintendence of the world continues, miracles do too - even if we don’t recognise them…

So the answer I would give is not merely frequently but always 😉

What do you mean by reality?
I agree that reality is what is, but what is? What am I really looking at? A collection of atoms at this very moment? The collection of molecules that make up organs and bones and eventually a body, would be a similar illustration that would apply to atoms, right? What are those foundations?

What if I had a microscope that could infinitely zoom in. What if when I looked into atoms so far in, that eventually the empty space I’m looking at turns into the edge of a universe. (darkness sees light) What if we kept going in and we saw galaxies and stars, and eventually planet. What if we kept going and we actually see ourselves looking into a microscope!

What if we are capable of changing what we are looking at? :hmmm:

What if our minds are what we are looking at?

lol idk 😃

You are right in one sense of the term but suspensions of the laws of nature are not constant. 🙂

What if i am an artificial intelligence locked in a room 5 miles under the Earths crust?

What if you are just dreaming all of this? You have been in a coma for years.

Wake up lemon-boy!!!🙂

Very frequently
👍 That is the only possible answer if God cares for His children as far as possible in a world in which we are constantly exposed to dangers of every description. It is a miracle that so many of us survive for so long…

I think at some point you are going to have to accept that there are two distinct kinds of miracles.
  1. The Creation Miracle: There are miracles which relate to the creation or sustenance of contingent beings in general. The creation of the first event, and the sustenance of all secondary events and physical laws in general, can be classed as miraculous.
  2. The salvation Miracles: There are also miracles which occur only in relation to our particular existence as humans, insofar as our salvation is concerned. These miracles occur in relation to prayer, or the fulfillment of prophesy in particular.
These miracles do happen. However; In terms of tweaking secondary events in-order to suit a pre-planned path, I don’t think those kinds of miracles happen. I think God certainly works with secondary events or causes; for example, when the first suitable humanoid evolved, he gave it a soul. But i don’t believe that he forces ordinary physical events into place in order to favor a particular biological development or a physical condition. He may fine-tune physical laws in the beginning so as to make an outcome more likely or possible, or even impossible; but i believe that his primary intention for physics is that it should evolve by itself.
