Praying in tongues today, is, made up gibberish. There are no translators.
Stick to the original church. Stick with Jesus.

Thanks, but I am quite over it. I strive to not be like him so the pattern does not continue.I am so sorry for your past grief.
I can find a video of a pope kissing the Koran and shaking hands with those in same sex marriages, irregular marriages, etc. Because the Holy Father is polite with people does not mean that the Church finds what they are valid or authentic. There are writings by the Vatican regarding the Catholic Charismatic movement. And this movement professes speaking and praying in tongues. And being receptive to any gifts of the Holy Spirit. Go look.
First thing you will find is Holy Father being prayed for, in tongues
I think you mean 1 Corinthians Chapter 14."For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit.”
St. Paul didn’t consider speaking in Tongues as speaking gibberish, but saw a purpose to it and said that he was thankful that he spoke in tongues more than all the others. (from 1Corinthians chapter 12)
Forty years ago, when I was a teen, I was involved with the Charismatic movement and prayed in tongues. However, I was always a little doubtful of the authenticity of the gift and thought it might rather be the result of peer pressure.praying in tongues in the spirit.
Tongues and interpretation
Tongues for personal edification
I agree. I was once in a prayer group where we were encouraged to “let go” of our inhibitions and babble whatever nonsense we could come up with out loud. It seemed very faked. To be honest, I don’t believe anyone prays in tongues. I think it is ALL made up or comes from a source other than God.
