How often is Christ's blood offered at your parish?

In my hometown the priest gave both species, but where I am in Kansas the priest gives only one and drinks the other.

Yes.The reception of the precious blood by the priest is an integral part of the Mass… It used to be only the priest that received the Precious Blood before Vatican 2, though

The Precious Blood is offered at all Masses, Sunday and weekdays at my parish.

I know that not offering the Precious Blood at all is contrary to canon law, but I had to ask since I’ve never been to a Mass where it wasn’t offered to the laity.

Usually it’s every week at the churches I attend. Sometimes there is only one or two cups of wine though, as opposed to four or five lines for the hosts, so if you are not in the communion line near the cup, then it’s likely too logistically difficult to make your way through all the people coming and going to get to the line for the cup.

(I deleted section on intinction becaues it contained error pointed out by Brendan below. Thanks Brendan! )

I have been to Masses in USA where the Precious Blood is not offered to the general crowd coming up for Communion. Usually these are Masses where there is some huge attendance, like a shrine or cathedral on a feast day, or Blessed Solanus Casey’s Beatification Mass at a sports arena, and would require a huge number of cups and many pitchers of wine. I’ve heard a priest explain that it is not logistically possible with a huge crowd given that the priest might have to finish many cups at the end. I am not sure but I think in those cases they may offer the Precious Blood to a few laity up front like the EMHC’s, lectors, people in the VIP section, etc.

All weekend Masses.

At the basilica, which I occasionally attend during the week, it is offered at every Mass.

Against canon law not to offer the Precious Blood ? Huh?

I think they are confusing the law that challenges the validity of Mass where there is no consecrated wine. The priest must consume the wine even if the people do not. However, he does not have to “offer” it to anyone else.

Where did you get the idea that NOT offering both species it is contrary to Canon Law???

It is an option, certainly, but the priest commits no violation of law if he only offers a single species to the faithful.

Intinction (the dipping of the Body (host) in the Blood (wine)) is not currently permitted in USA.
SELF Intinction, where the recipient dips the species of bread into the chalice is forbidden everywhere, but the priest offering an intincted Host to a recipient is certainly permitted.

From the USCCB website:

"49. Holy Communion may be distributed by intinction in the following manner: “Each communicant, while holding a Communion-plate under the mouth, approaches the Priest who holds a vessel with the sacred particles, with a minister standing at his side and holding the chalice. The Priest takes a host, intincts it partly in the chalice and, showing it, says: ‘The Body and Blood of Christ.’ The communicant replies, ‘Amen,’ receives the Sacrament in the mouth from the Priest, and then withdraws”

why do make the conservative distinction? My parish is as well, and it is offered at almost every Mass at my parish
