Yes, I do win. All the time. You would hate it.

And, yes, I do gloat a bit. 😊
You aren’t as good as you think you are, I’m sure you don’t win all the time, and it mostly has to do with the fact that you make sure interactions with you are very unpleasant unless the person you’re talking to is Catholic.

I’m not sure how consistent this behavior is in your normal everyday life, but the PR avatar that I’ve met on CAF is an unpleasant avatar. There are many other avatars that see things differently from me, but we can still enjoy talking to each other. Your PR avatar is not one of those avatars.

At this point, I’m willing to give you explanations via PM only. You know the terms.
I dunno. :hmmm:

I think, objectively, this really sounds like you don’t have an answer to:

[SIGN1]How it is that the HS protected ā€œsomeā€ men, but that it somehow, inexplicably ended at some inexplicable point in history for some inexplicable reason… [/SIGN1]

Ok. That’s it, cooter. I was having fun with you and you went over the line.

Did it look like I was having fun? When you’re doing something that’s fun for you and a non-Catholic describes it as ā€œbadgering,ā€ take a hint. Seriously.

Via PM, if you want it. Let me know if you change your mind.

😃

Sports analogies notwithstanding, one has to wonder how the Protestant Reformers would view this devolution into chaos and confusion.
i honestly think they would see this, as the law of unintended consequences, in action. šŸ™‚

**Jericho - do you even bother to *read ***the posts?
In post 217, I educated you on the fact that NONE of the Apostles were appointed by men. they were apoointed by God. Paul was not any more special than the other Apostles in this regard.

I have given you ample evidence that he bowed to the authority of the Church, yet every one of your posts repeats the same thing.

What’s your point?
Yes I do. There are catholics here who don’t agree that Paul was appointed by God.

And I have given ample evidence that the doctrines God gave Paul could not be subjected to the church.

Paul was not appointed by God? Then name the fallible person who appointed him? So the doctrines given to Paul were entirely non-applicable to Christ Church and were equal or above the church? How could Paul not be subject to the church?

Paul was appionted by God. There are catholics here who do not think so!

If God gave Paul his doctrines then how could those same doctrines be subject to the church?

That is an impossibility.

You talk as if Paul and the Church were at odds with each other. They were ALL part of the mystical Body of Christ.
The Body of Christ is ONE - not many.

**I don’t understand why you keep pitting Paul against the Church - which he was PART of.

Let me get this straight, Jericho.
Are you saying that it is an impossibility for Jesus Christ to make Paul subject to HIM?? Is THAT what you’re saying??

Did Jesus EVER equate Paul with Him? NO.
Did Jesus EVER equate Luther or any other man with him? NO.

**Jesus equated himself with the CHURCH (Acts 9:4-5). Paul said that the Church was the FULLNESS of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23). Therefore, EVERYBODY is subject to Jesus and is ipso facto subject to the Church. **
Even Paul.

Impossiblity? Are you kidding me? Wait a minute here! Are you suggesting or stating Paul was complelely independent and apart from the 12 and Christ Church? So the fact God gave Paul his doctrines, hence he is not sbject to the Christ Church? You pit Paul against the Church and that my friend is false. Paul did not found ā€˜independent’ churches apart from the Church the 12 continued from Christ. Sorry, but you are dead wrong! Paul was not "Protestant’ or trying to set up or teach doctrines separate from Christ Church.

You are presenting a false picture about Paul.

Who was first in teaching grace apart from works of the law?

Who hadden’t decided on works apart from works of the law until Paul showed up?

Paul was taught by God directly his doctrine so how could that doctrine be subjected to the lesser ā€œthe churchā€. It is an imopssibility. That said Christ is the head of His body of believers. All believers are then subject to Him.

Presciely what elvisman has been telling you. Paul is a believer-right? So he too is subject to the Church the mystical Body of Christ. One cannot say: I am only subject to Jesus, but not the Church. One cannot separate Jesus from His Church.

Exactly. If one severs Jesus from his Church he is serving a decapitated body, or a head with not body.

Jericho gives the impression Paul is NOT subject to the Church, simply because God gave him doctrines? That is absurd and a plain distortion of the truth.

Wait a minute - WHHHAAAT??

The Church is the Body of Christ and he is the head (Eph. 5:23).
JESUS IS GOD. The Church is his Body (1 Cor. 12). How can you say that the Church is "lesser"??
That is a blasphemous statement because you render Jesus somehow less than God.

**You keep saying tha Paul was taught directly by God - as if he was different than the rest of the Apostles. Here’s a fact for you:
ALL of the Apostles were taught DIRECTLY by God because they were taught by JESUS.

**If you reject the idea that Jesus is God - you’re not even a Christian.

Jesus.

Certainly not the Church. When the Church made its decision, Paul bowed to the Church’s authority. Paul wasn’t even sure what to do about the Judaizers and that’s why he went to the Council of Jerusalem in the first place - to get a definite answer.

Read your Bible (Acts 15:1-3).

Hold onto your britches there I fully embrace the deity of Christ. You are assuming that the doctrine God gave Paul was then subject to church approval. That’s prepostertous. I see the church as the body of Christ not an organization.
