How politically damaging were Biden's comments about closing down the oil industry?

A lot can happen in 46 days,as we know.I would prefer that no ballots be allowed before actual election day.

Yep we are very distinctly divided in this Nation
Do not think this is a U.S. only problem. Nations are divided, it is rare to have peace. Peace comes from the Lord. Peace I give you, My peace I leave you.

Yes, but Trump is a regular on Fox. He almost has his own show. Anyone interested in an hour-long stream of consciousness from him could just tune in.
And if Biden would make himself available - he too -could be a regular on FOX … but alas - he wont go on FOX by his [his Team’s] choice

One day the oil industry will go away.
Not really. We’ll still need petroleum for many more products than just fuel.
Nuclear. But people are idiots and fear what they don’t understand and so no one wants to live near a nuclear power plant
No thanks. Nuclear waste and human mismanagement leading to accidents are why I’ll never support traditional nuclear power.

In my opinion, fusion is a better option.

For general electricity production , we’ve had the technology for decades. Nuclear. But people are idiots and fear what they don’t understand and so no one wants to live near a nuclear power plant despite them being safer than hydro, coal, and natural gas combined.
True

Plus zero carbon emissions.

Maybe, but compared to the attacks on him and adulation for Democrats on the overwhelming number of networks and print media, not to mention the overt attempt to censor on social media, Fox is a small voice.
It’s hard to really understand a candidate. However, in the modern era with Twitter, Facebook, et al, the actual cable, print and broadcast media are bypassed and the candidates, in effect, “self publish”. You can’t get away from then and their surrogates.
The overt censorship by Twitter etc. is clearly and undeniably biased.

You’re not wrong. I’m just a firm believer that if we’re going to have a thing called “Election Day” then we should hold the election on that day. Not the 6 weeks or more or whatever it is leading up to it.
I’m fine with that so long as it’s a national holiday.

Jon, you and I are on widely different sides of this.

I said earlier that even I am getting a little sick of the CNN outrage machine, but, trying to be objective, I have to say that there has been no President in recent memory who has played so loose with the truth. I think most of what has occurred in the media has been reactions to Trump’s statements.

I know we disagree. I’m even kinda spent on arguing about all this. I hope it’s all lover in ten days.

I wouldn’t have an issue with that, or at least some strong legislation mandating employers have to allow time for voting on the day of.

Perhaps not- I accept your statement - However, that was the impression I heard - that Trump gets sole exposure on FOX that Biden is prevented …but of course that is not the case - which was my point. Biden could easily get time on FOX 0 he choses not to.

Probably so.

On this we agree.
I have to say that there has been no President in recent memory who has played so loose with the truth.
On this we disagree. Obama was at least as loose and Clinton was worse than both.
I think most of what has occurred in the media has been reactions to Trump’s statements.
What has happened in the media is a concerted effort, in conjunction with the Democrat party to undermine a duly elected president with a series of lies and disinformation campaigns, from Russia conspiracy collusion to Ukraine quid pro quo.
Meanwhile, it has been clear it was Democrats doing both of these things, not Trump.

We are currently energy independent. If we eliminate oil, gas, and coal, we will again become dependent on foreign nations. Millions of jobs in the United States would be lost.

taxpayer paid oil subsidies redirected towards wind and solar.

“The Green New Deal would cost a typical household more than $70,000 in the first year of implementation, approximately $45,000 for each of the next four years, and more than $37,000 each year thereafter according to a study by Power the Future and the Competitive Enterprise Institute posted on CEI’s webpage.

The overall price tag of the Green New Deal in other studies have been pegged at $93 trillion. It would result in gas taxes of $10-$13 per gallon and retro-fitting homes and businesses.
“Economists and experts have been warning us for months about the devastating effects of the Green New Deal, and now we have the numbers to prove it,” said Daniel Turner, executive director of Power the Future.
"This study only calculates a fraction of the cost of Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez’s radical plan, which amounts to a socialist free-for-all with no regard for the American taxpayer. No family should be forced to pay tens of thousands of dollars in the first year alone to fund AOC’s ideological wish list.

Joe Biden picked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to lead his “climate change” agenda. AOC and Kamala Harris (Biden’s Vice President candidate) are sponsors of the Green New Deal. According to a study completed by the American Action Forum (one of many studies revealing the huge cost), the Green New Deal would cost up to $94 trillion over the next 10 years, or $60,000 per household over each of the next 10 years.
