How to get children to get along

We are trying to split them up for more one on one time which does help. It’s funny because when we do this they are always concerned that we are not all together as a family and missing the other one. Go figure.

Absence can definitely make the heart grow fonder.

Speaking of which–preschool or pre-K or parents’ day out can be very helpful.
 
I never had kids, so I probably don’t have the same perspective. But my first though is there anyway, you can get more of a break? Is there a relative or a friend who can take the kids for a few hours a week? Can you offer to watch someone else’s kids in return for them watching yours?

I can help but think a bit more free time for you will give a different perspective

Yes, I actually work part-time, so I get a “break” so to speak. We have had to switch childcare providers a lot though so those “breaks” tend to end in pretty rough evenings as it’s pretty stressful for young children to be thrown into new environments all the time. I feel like things go better if I have several days in a row with them to get on a good routine. My husband is wonderful when he is home and will watch them so I can get out or take a shower or whatever. My mom came over for an hour yesterday so I could go to confession. So, yes you are right, breaks are needed, but I get them here and there 🙂
