How to handle husband drinking and driving with the kids?

Yes I do and I wonder :confused: . I felt I asked a legitimate question and BE jumped all over me. Come on a forum, ask for advice or opinions and get ripped a new “body part” ??Hmmm??? Perhaps I touched a nerve?

That is kind of human nature, don’t you think? I’ve done the same when I’ve not gotten the response I wanted or even when the conversation went off in some direction that I didn’t think applied.

“OH, NEVER MIND! FORGET I ASKED!” Which of us has never said that?

so you will get the authorities involved after somebody gets killed? who will be your bread-winner when your husband gets arrested for drunk driving.
quite frankly, if it was my daughter calling me with this question, I would have already reported the husband for child endangerment.

Human nature…yes. I was just a bit taken aback. But I will tell BE the same thing I tell me kids…When you ask me a question, or say something that elicits a response on my part, be prepared. As the response you get may or may not be what you want to hear. I truly don’t think what I said was offensive.

WOW! I was asking for advice for an alcoholic, not for financial advice! so get over yourself. What wer you going to suggest? taking the eleven dollars a month that we spend on internet access and move out with it? Face it, you were just doing it to be a pain and to look like you were actually caring about my situation, when in ireality you were trying to minimize the problem or act like i was lying. You offer no help, just make statements disguised as questions.

For the record, I did clear up this misunderstanding, I did jump to conclusions with my husband. the mere fact that I jumped that far, tells me that he indeed has a problem with alcohol, even without the driving involved.

Thanks for the advice people. I am really glad that I approached him and cleared up this misunderstanding! I am sorry I didnt ask him about my suspiciions before I posted this. It could have saved me a big headache!
 
As I said before, I can not reiterate this enough, Kathys question was not pertaining to advice, just added for humiliation. that was not advice. What the heck does the way I pay for my internet access have anything to do wtih the situation mentioned above. The only reaosn why i added the part about finances was just a side note, really having nothing to do dierectlywith the situation. I must say I am appalled with some of the statments commenting that I was just freaking out voer the advice, which I was not, just saying that kathy’s question was none of her business and had nothing to do with the topic. Why dont you ask me about my sex life? and then when i dont like it, you can all gossip together; like you good Catholics do!

OH AND KATHY, IF YOU HAD A LEGITITMATE REASON FOR ASKING AOBUT MY INTERNET SERVICE, WHY DONT YOU PM ME AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU ASKED!

FIY-I wanted to tell you that I also verified this with my sister who was at the party! She does not drink, and was not drinking at the time! She verified for me that he was not intoxicated by any stretch of the imagination!

You have now far exceeded any legitimate offense you could have taken from anyone else’s posts and started to become offensive yourself. While I initially doubted that you were overreacting to your husband’s behaviour and assumed he probaly had an issue with alcohol, now I’m not so sure. Overreaction seems like a definite possibility on issues that hit a nerve with you…
