How do I discern my own inner voice and desires with the voice of God and his desires for me? How do I know I’m not just talking to myself?

There is an interesting answer on that thread from @Cloisters who is a nun.Hello everyone, I am a Catholic teenager trying to discern what my vocation is(marriage, priesthood, religious, etc.) The thing that I struggle the most with is understanding the voice of God. My question is what does the voice of God physically(yes physically) feel like? I know most of you are probably thinking “Kid it doesn’t feel like anything, it’s a voice.” But I’m sure there’s a better answer to my question out there. With that being said, when you experienced the voice of God calling you …
Chances are it is your wishful thinking.. I too want to know if it’s Gods voice and not just my wishful thinking.
This is why the assembly of god denomination embraced praying in tongues as the 1st evidence of baptism of the holy spirit. How do I know I’m not just talking to myself?
Discerning the voice of God is to be attentive to even the tiniest things in your spiritual life. It is, as our Lord taught us, a requirement that we first deny ourselves, take up our crosses daily, and then (only then) follow him.“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
