I’ll fess up … I got 99. I’m so ashamed :o

The worst thing is it doesn’t tell ya what the correct answers are, so I’ll never know which one I got wrong 😦

Edit: Got it! It was the confirmation question - I put ‘adult in the faith’ which apparently ISN’T the most correct answer.
Me too. I’m also 97% true Chicagoan. I’ve been there twice in my entire 56 years. Go figure.

That’s another question that had me pausing (sometimes it’s not good to know too much). Liturgically, Good Friday is ranked above Christmas. However, that’s because it’s part of the Easter Triduum; in other words, Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday are ranked with it. Since the question asked about only two feasts, it’s apparent they couldn’t be talking about the Easter Triduum since that would mean more than two. So basically the two feasts they were talking about were two joyful feasts: Christmas and Easter. Also, another way you could look at is Easter meaning Easter Triduum; that would include Good Friday.

The way we were instructed is the liturgical cycle of the Church revolves around these to major feasts.

The beginning being advent …

I scored 100%, but almost screwed up on the part where they asked for the chief spiritual works of mercy–I marked the answer for corporal works. Luckily later on, the same question for the spiritual works caused me to go back and change my answer.

I gotta start reading more carefully on these internet quizzes–or I will never graduate.
I did exactly the same thing, but I still got something wrong. I think I said adult whatever for the confirmation question. And I remember singing I’m a Solider in Christ’s Army, Confirmation Made It So!

Yet another 100% without ever having read the Baltimore Catechism (except for the early answer about being created to know, love, and serve God and enjoy Him in eternity). I don’t think being taken from the 1st level makes the quiz necessarily easy, though - I think that comes on 80-90% of the questions by the obviously wrong elements of most of the options. Those of us who haven’t read the BC would probably have a much tougher time if all the options had been things we might more reasonably consider “live” answers.

BTW, I think I’ll make my convert wife take the quiz to see how she does.

I didn’t think in terms of liturgical rankings because I didn’t think there was anything to distinguish one first class feast of the Lord from another (I have no experience of the pre-'62 system). I thought of the calendrical reason given above - these two feasts anchor the rest of the proper of time - but a more imperical way of determining the answer would be to look at the only 2 days 50-75% of “Catholics” darken the door of a church.

I figured that although Good Friday is a very holy day, it isn’t really a feast day. That left “Christmas and Easter”.
Yes, but that depends somewhat on what you define a feastday as.

Yes, that crossed my mind too…

I have no experience with that system either; I was actually basing liturgical rankings on what they are in the current calendar.

Same thing for me. 99%

I went back and forth between “adult in the faith” and “soldier for Christ”. Just didn’t remember that one. :o

At least now I don’t have to worry about getting prideful over coming up “perfect”. 😃

That’s right; I got 100% too. That settles the debate about being traditional without being attached to the TLM, paramedicgirl. 😃

Not yet. The next set of questions you will be getting will be in Latin. 🙂

Guess what. I happen to know Latin; I took three years of it and am still studying it. 😃

In case you’re dying to know the reason for my Latin studies: I wanted to (and still do) enter a monastery that prays at least a good portion of the Divine Office and Mass in Latin! I’m not joking. 🙂

100%. The one that got me slightly confused were the HDoO for the USA- I was trying to figure out whether it was the 2nd or 4th option. Some of the answers though you could distinguish between, because they were in “catechism language”. And some were howlers:
  1. What do we mean by the four marks of the Church?
    John, George, Paul, and Ringo
The crucifix, the chi-ro, the fish, the Papal seal.
  1. What are the chief spiritual works of mercy?
To smile at others, to give others flowers, to sing in church, to read inspirational emails, to think happy thoughts, to go to reiki class, to walk a labyrinth.
To save the seals, to adopt a dog from a shelter, to save the rainforest, to refuse to wear animal skins, to be a vegan, to give to animal shelters, to have a “Save the Manatees” license plate.
  1. What is the best method of assisting at Mass?
(I really felt this should have been the correct one :D)
To pay attention and not fall asleep.
  1. What is the difference between Original Sin and Actual Sin?
Original sin is inherited from your mother, and actual sin is from your father. :rotfl:
Original sin is inherited from Adam and Eve, actual sin is inherited from Judas Iscariot.
  1. What does the indwelling of the Holy Spirit enable the Church to do?
To collect money, to absolve sin, and to build churches.
To hold Bingo in the auditorium. 😃
  1. What is a sacrament?
A chance to collect money from your family.
  1. What will confirmation do to you?
It will get me out of any more CCD classes!
  1. What is grace?
A church lady who cleans the altar. 😃
  1. When is our contrition perfect?
When we put extra money in the collection.
  1. What must you do to be happy with God in heaven?
To collect money, to absolve sin, and to build churches.

I got 100%, but will admit to guessing a little on the confirmation question. Most of the other ones were pretty easy for a Catholic, though.

Well then maybe you would like to take the Latin Quizzes I published on my blog in January.
