It is good to hear that your Traditional Mass experience has been such a good one. Is the TLM really close to where you live?
This is at least the second time you’ve posted this list. And I will point out - again - that while you’re free to enjoy the TLM to your heart’s content (purrrfect is a bit over the top IMO), implying that all parishes and all NO masses have the problems you’ve listed above is unfair and misleading. We have lectors in our parish which is completely permissible, but none of the other issues. Communicants sipping Coke? Admit it, you made that one up.I gave up on the NOM and have returned to the Tridentine Latin Mass, which has been offered in this diocese only since the first Sunday of June.
No lectors
No altar girls
No “masters of ceremonies” in albs and EMs swarming all over the altar acting like priests, telling priests what to do, putting their grubby hands into the Tabernacle, pouring the Precious Blood, breaking the host(s) for distribution, etc.
No female EMs distributing Holy Communion in short shorts
No music, cantor, choir, or orchestra rehearsals immediately before Mass when silence is called for
No musical performances to distract the congregation’s focus from the altar
The organ has been moved to the choir loft where it belongs instead of at the side of the altar where it is a distraction. (Both piano and organ were at the front of the church near the altar – now the organ has moved and the paino, bongo drums !], and other instruments are left.
No congregations rehearsing insipid songs just prior to Holy Mass
No handholding.
No artificial fellowship (Please stand and say hello to your neighbor).
No more gum-chewing, Coke-sipping communicants
No more chit-chatting before, during, and after the Mass
No more “I’ll do it my way, which is any old way” celebrants
And – no more letters of complaint from me to the priests and bishop (which were ignored until we got a new bishop)
The Tridentine Latin Mass is purrrrrrrrrrfect. Profound reverence. Beautiful silence. Communion on the tongue, on my knees. The Sacrifice to the Transcendent God is clearly revealed through the Sacred Liturgy. The NOM obscures it because of all the abuses.
I agree there are a few parishes which do not have these problems. I think EWTN is one of those Churches. I can’t recall any others off the top of my head. I am sure there are some others. This is at least the second time you’ve posted this list. I’d like to see the NO Mass include the old Confiteor and absolution, and also the Last Gospel. The Last Gospel, I believe, is the perfect send-off because it tells the Faithful what they’re supposed to be doing in the world, what they’re supposed to be focused on.

But that is the official term which was used in Pope Paul VI’s new Missal. Novus Ordo Missae= New Order of MassCMOM, you got it right! I am so tired of the use of the term Novus Ordo.
This doesn’t have a reason. What was so bad about preVatican II days? So you are praying against a Mass to be used in the Church?I, too, spent plenty of time in Tridentine Masses. And I pray we won’t go back.
Have you read the whole GIRM? Music is not the emphasis of Mass. The Unbloody Sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the emphasis. Anyways how many new songs in the Mass are directly from the Bible? An old “Ave Maria” will do well. Its Biblical.Following the GIRM is just fine, thank you. And I love the new music we have, which so often comes from the Psalms, Old Testament and New Testament.
Communion under one species is full. Communion under two species is no different from receiving Communion under one species. They are both equal. How is it a great gift? The sacrament is full under one species you do not need both species to receive the fullness of the sacrament.Communion under both Species is one of the greates gifts sacramentally that we have received. And I so appreciate that baptisms have been made part of the community by including them in the Mass.
Liberal … well I won’t draw any conclusions. The Magisterium is not one person read my below post. And no, I’m not a liberal. Just true to the Magesterium.
