Muggy now, it’s going to be around 40c tomorrow but if it’s reasonably cool tonight it will be fine.Less fire risk with the more humid weather .
 
Glad the fires are subsiding. That’s scary. God bless the Aussies!!!

Cloudy and cold here.
 
Is your weather more settled now? Less snow happening around the country?
 
Snow everywhere, but what was odd for us was that we’re in the SOUTH where it rarely snows, municipalities are ill-equipped to deal with it and people want to continue driving90 mph. 😱

And the poorer folk,I hope they are getting through with keeping warm somehow :confused:

In my part of the country only when the temps drop sub zero F and if it stays that way to long. We are pretty well equipped to deal with snow, but ice storms are another matter.

Down south the cold not only affects wildlife, but it ravages crops.
 
Still raining. Parts of our area are going to get the dreaded “s” word this week. If we do, I’m shipping it to you, Clare.

Blue sky here. The dreaded white stuff is supposed to hit twice this week. Tuesday morning and Friday night into Saturday morning. 19F for a low Saturday morning.😱😳😵😠
 
Snow is only yipppeee for you since you have so little of it, haha! When it’s 3 foot deep and you can’t get out of your house until you shovel the snow out of your driveway, you will be feeling less yipppeee, and more ughhh, when is spring going to be here! 😊

s the point. That will never happen here. We get enough to have a day off work and a snowman. just the fun stuff. 😝
 
We had a bright sunny day today with a bit warmer weather. It felt good getting outside and listening to the birdsong.

Oh, it will happen when you least expect it. When we first moved to the South, it was normal to have 3"-4"of snow at one time and see vehicles with chains loudly clanging as they went down the road. Then we went through a loooong period when we didn’t get any snow and people thought it didn’t snow in the South.

Our new normal is 6" to 12". Rarely do we get lower than 6" anymore since we’re right on the line. The first time that happened when I was a child, I was like you. “Yipppeee” because it meant no school for at least a week.

But when you’re an adult with health problems and you can’t get out of the house because the door is frozen shut and you can’t get to work or the dr or Mass and you have to worry about falling if you even try to venture out, that once pretty snow becomes a hazard that you just wish would go away and not come back. It’s wonderful if you can shovel your driveway. But often, that’s not possible until things melt a bit.

No snow! NO snow!! NO SNOW!!!😱😱😱
 
On my way to purchase a ship load of snow to melt and put on my garden.🤓
Made it through our few rather hot days, and now we have a week of cold days ,20c or so.And I can’t quite remember just how Hot it was last night! I think it sat on around 30c till the early hours…tonight I have a hot water bottle…

😊 I would too if it weren’t for all the kitties surrounding me. Sammie and Tippy always get under the covers with me and vie for the prime position of being on my arthritic hip.😱

When I woke up, it was 37F. I didn’t know that. I just knew it was colder than cold. (We were supposed to get down to 44F, according to the 10pm weather.) When I checked on Mama, I had to ask if she was cold too since being sick with the flu, I can’t tell if it’s just me or not. She gave me the temperature and I turned on more heat.😱
 
HA! You must live in a different “south” than me. We’ve never had 12 inches. Ever.
 
We have family in GA. Yeah, y’all have had snow this year. You got that winter storm we didn’t get. Then we got one. Heck, I shoulda just sent it to you.
