Both you and Dr Nadal, presented great arguements, and we owe much to Littleflower for the debate. I came to the thread to find out a) Is the Church calling this immoral? b) Is it safe?
Hello there PapaBear 🙂

To the best of my knowledge the church does not teach that getting the vaccine is immoral. As I told LittleFlower…the decision whether or not to get the vaccine is purely one of choice. There is no sin involved if someone decides to be vaccinated.

As far as whether or not it is safe? And specifically, for your daughter, Emilie - again, this will be a judgement call on your part. Dr. Nadal and I disagree on how safe we think the vaccine is. My 3 daughters (9, 11 and 12) are all completely “healthy” and my DH (also a PhD) and I will not be getting any of them vaccinated. There are many other educated people, Dr. Nadal among them, who would choose vaccination for their daughters. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer, nor a “right” or “wrong” answer to this. You and your wife will have to make the decision for your daughter.

Get as much information as you can from a variety of sources so that your decision will be an informed decision.
And then trust God. 🙂

I will pray for guidance and protection for your family and for your little Emilie. And I wish you untold blessings.

If I had a daughter, I’d have her take the HPV shots about age 10 or so.

This is NOT encouraging her to be promiscuous. It is a layer of protection against disease including cancer.

She might be a virgo intacta on her wedding night. But how do we know her husband is virginal?

Besides, there are other horrible things that can happen.

To draw a parallel, Hep B can be transmitted sexually–but also through infected blood and its products.

Had my father had Hep B shots beforeh is long hospitalization, he wouldn’t have come down with it 3 mos after discharge!

ANY shot that helps proctect against ANY disease is a good thing.
Amen!!

There’s been a lot of disinformation about HPV vaccine - there was a death in the UK temporally related to vaccination which turned out to be due to a hitherto undiagnosed tumour.
