**Hubby is military. He was infantry but switched over to firefighter (airforce trade). Now he needs to get trained.
When he first put in for the transfer the course was only 3 or 4 months long. After he got accepted they decided to switch it to an 8 month long course. (I have posted about this before but just going over the details again).
So he was originally supposed to go for training either in September or October. I was freaking out. Then he was told those courses were all filled up so don’t expect to go anytime sooner than next year. I breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, last Thursday they said “you’re going on October’s course and you leave Monday”

. With a little rearranging he got that switched to next Monday. But either way it is sooo little time to prepare for his long absence.
He will be able to come home for Christmas and we’re hoping some other short breaks in there, but essentially he will be gone from home until June. He has NEVER been away from Lily and he is so sad. Very excited about the new job but very sad about leaving home for 8 months. And no, we don’t go with him (unless we paid for accommodations out of pocket, which is impossible).
I know we will all make it through. But for now I am stressing big time. If I wasn’t so ill (Fibromyalgia) I would be a lot less worried. But he is my caretaker and my co-parent. He does so much around here that this is going to be a huge challenge for me. So please please keep us in your prayers. I am not looking forward to a long cold winter as a sick single mom.
