No surprise here. It yet more proof that the Huffington Post operates in it’s own deluded little universe that has no relation to the real one.
 
That Huffington person is a nut case. I remember when she was a republican and she was just as wacky…These people are just mouths not connected to a brain
 
Is it even worth it to pray for these people? I know we are supposed to, but every day I just see more and more people bash the Church or people who stand up for moral values. I don’t think there are enough hours in the day to pray for the conversion of people who hate the Church and resolve to destroy it.

Wonder why he would want a Inexpicibaly evil organization to provide social servces? As is usual with the Left they want the Church’s money but not its moral teachigs.
 
Just more reasons to pray. But here’s the rub…don’t try to squelch their reproach of the Catholic church, but woe to those who try to insult them.

This is the thing I don’t get. They want us to go away, but when it looks like we might be forced to shut down some of our services, they scream about how un-Christian we’re being for shutting down. If you read down some of the comments on Huff Post, you’ll see calls to revoke the Church’s tax exempt status. They think we’re some kind of rich empire that’s constantly sending bags of gold back to Rome. They don’t realize a lot of dioceses operate with a deficit. Priests in my country make around $12,000 a year.

It reminds me of something from Chesterton’s Orthodoxy, where he said people in his day criticized the Church from both sides. For example, they accused it of being both horribly prudish and also obsessed with sex. Here they accuse of of being the biggest force for evil in all human history and then rail at us for possibly stopping the social services we’ve always provided.

Yes, it is well worth the time to pray for these people. Prayer is never wasted. Even if we do not see the results, only good can come from prayer. So please, all, do not hesitate to pray for these misguided, prideful souls. Pray, pray and pray some more.
 
I’m sorry I think the author meant to type the single most charitable instituation in the world. Ever.

As far as the HItler youth charge against Benedict…how many times does this have to be clarified before people will stop the slander. Every youth was automatically enrolled. Benedict and his family fled as soon as they could. My gosh.

I am just praying that the Bishops listen to the Holy Spirit and lead the Church away from appeasing secularism (in the name of false charity) in the form of this health bill.

Comparing the Church that gave the world the bible, formed the college system and the idea of public education and the blueprints of modern-day law (its based off Cannon Law) to new Coke. Um…not so much. The only to compare to new Coke is the writer’s baseless argument, because it is fizzling quickly.

You assume that clarifications work for these people. It doesn’t. Just ignore them and pray for them. Those are the best two things you can do and the two things that also would annoy them the most.😃

So, this article, and the words within it, are supposed to fill me with shock and disbelief?

Detractors of the Catholic Church don’t see the irony in their criticisms. They use the same old, stale accusations, which only serve to reveal a high level of ignorance on the part of the critic. The more they try to bury the Catholic Church in accusations of evil-doing and hypocrisy, the more the truth about the greatness of the Catholic Church is highlighted and revealed.
 
If the world hates you remember that it hated me first,no servant is greater than his master,If they persecuted me they will also persecute you.

This is what i think of when people make hatefull remarks on the true Church of Christ.The world hates us so much becuase of his name but we shall stand together brothers and sisters and continue to love Christ and the Catholic Church.

When I hear this filth I am at first very angry but then I become very sad for those who think like this. They do not know what they are doing. They see the world and all it has to offer but they cannot see the wonder they were created for. They are choosing garbage over perils. We should never stop praying for these lost souls. God still loves them and so must we.
