Promiscuity is hardly a new thing. Syphilis was a pretty common in those old fashioned more god-fearing days as well.
It only bolsters the OP that human promiscuity is objectively incorrect, to point out that it has always been objectively incorrect.
Which doesn’t trouble me since I agree anyway, that human promiscuity is objectively incorrect.

Condoms don’t cover all genital skin, is my point. So even at their most effective, they won’t protect against all STD’s.
And seat belts at their most effective won’t protect against all car crashes. I guess that means that wearing a seat belt is useless. 😉

And brushing your teeth won’t protect against all cavities. I guess that’s useless, too.

Chaste people are also held in suspicion or sometimes even in contempt.

There’s something wrong with you if you choose not to engage in extramarital sex.

This applies to other virtues too. The honest are laughed to scorn for not cheating when they can.

It is more prevalent to shame people in popular culture for not having had sex, much more so than for not being a cheat.

The word virgin is seen now seen as an insult.

True, but they don’t eliminate the chance of STDs. Combine hyper/oversexualization of society with easy condom access but no serious discussion as to the consequences, well now you’ve just encouraged people to take risks. It seems that STDs and unplanned pregnancies have increased over the last 50ish years, despite easier access to birth control.

Heh. I remember in the video game Baldur’s Gate, there is a bit early on, in which a guardsman catches the player doing something he shouldn’t and one of the player’s dialogue options is, 'Up yours, you uppity bald virgin".

It was funny at the time.

Interesting. I thought feminists wanted womyn to "#shout your status."

But that’s not working out too well, so instead of critiquing promiscuous behavior of both men and women, pointing out that women are more vulnerable to STDs, we decree the virus/bacteria to be sexist.
