Hunter Shot by Cheney Has Heart Attack

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The 78-year-old lawyer who was shot by Vice President Dick Cheney in a hunting accident has some birdshot in or touching his heart and he had “a silent heart attack” Tuesday morning, hospital officials said.

The victim, Harry Whittington, was immediately moved back to the intensive care unit for further treatment, said Peter Banko, the administrator at Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Memorial in Texas.
Hospital officials said they knew that Whittington had some birdshot near his heart ever since Cheney accidentally shot him Saturday evening while aiming for a quail. The pellet always was at risk of moving closer since scar tissue had not had time to harden and remain in place, they said.

Why is this even being posted, except to cause trouble? People are already blowing it so out of proportion (will Cheney resign lol?) In a few weeks everyone here will be saying “Those Democrats, those Liberals, why do they keep talking about it, it’s a personal affair” and yet post after post about this is being put here. Unless the intent is for prayers for this man, this discussion is just a pointless debate that will soon be everyone on the forum defending Cheney as some liberals talk about the White House “coverup”.

Actually, it appears that he has the equivalent of shrapnel in or near his heart and that can be quite serious. I kept wondering why he was being kept in the intensive care unit and this clears that up.

It’s news just like most of the other things posted on this forum. I mean, someone posted about the press secretary being called a “jerk” and I didn’t see its newsworthiness questioned.

I understand that this story may make some people feel uncomfortable, but that’s no reason for it not to be posted. You are right that the man who was shot by the VP deserves many prayers. I certainly pray that he recovers.
