Please pray for me and my family.

I don’t know where to start, so I hope you will forgive the following rant:
  • Please pray for my depression.
  • My kids have Autism and I blame myself. Why did God make my kids Autistic? Please pray for my kids.
  • I’ve been betrayed by everyone I’ve ever held dear to my heart. Please pray that I stop reliving the pain.
  • I’m being slandered. I’m not fighting back. Please pray that people stop. I just want to be left alone to heal.
  • My wife doesn’t know how to support me. She betrayed me before also (not infidelity), but I’m trying to learn to trust her again, but it hurts taking the high road with your spouse. It’s like reliving the pain every time I see/think about them. Please pray for us.
  • Please pray that I don’t succumb to the anger. I don’t want to be a “bad person”
  • Please pray that I stop beating myself up. I blame myself for everything, even if it’s not my fault.
  • Please pray that the hurt stops…

I’m so sorry you are going through all this. I’m praying for you. I know it is hard, but forgiving these people will help you feel better. Also, don’t blame yourself for your son’s autism. Also, God doesn’t want you to beat yourself up. He loves you very much.

You might want to talk to a priest. God bless you.

United With The Sacred Heart

 This Heart is a pierced Heart. Jesus stands before us with a pierced Heart. We have seen how knowledge of God has always cost; the human heart has to be broken open before it can receive God, and thus it was with Jesus. And the deepest mystery of all is that we learn that the Father's own Heart is pierced. 
 How can we enter into this pierced Heart? Only by becoming like it, .. living in love at whatever cost, paying the high price of loving. Too easily we assume that loving is a pleasurable experience. Most surely it is the only sweetness in life, but this must be understood correctly. True love is always bleeding in our mortal life. You simply cannot have love in this life without pain.
Just think of our own way of carrying on. We get hurt, offended … what do we do? Shrink into ourselves, erect all sorts of barriers. Our heart has withdrawn from the one who hurts us in any way. We mustn’t be hurt, “I matter,” our poor ego cries. But that is not how Jesus loves. If we would be like him we must struggle to the death with all this, refuse to curl up, refuse to withdraw in the slightest. We must go on exposing ourselves, giving ourselves, pouring ourselves out.
We say we want to love, we want to serve, we want to give ourselves, and at bottom we are saying we want selfish satisfaction. We want to feel we matter, are important, we want to feel fulfilled; in other words we are using others, and the beautiful concept of love is being abused. Love is selfless. The way into the Heart of Jesus is not through. intellectual insight, not through glowing emotion, but through learning to pay the cost of pure love. There is sacrifice involved in letting others be themselves.

St. Josemaria Escriva, we humbly implore you for your prayers and intercession. As the founder of Opus Dei, you saw the beauty and sanctity to be gained in living our daily lives for God. Help us as we struggle through our crosses today- the little irritations that grate, the people who annoy, the situation that didn’t go our way, the exhaustion at the end of the day. You were able to see God’s will in every aspect of your life. Help us as we fight our concupiscence, our cowardice, our tendency to take the path of least resistance, as we attempt to follow Jesus on the way of the cross. I ask you especially to pray for all who have asked for prayers on the forum today, for my loved ones, and for all those for whom I am obligated to pray. Keep us within your heart on this your feast day, and pray for us to the Father in union with Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Jesus, the OP has so many concerns and worries for himself and his family. He needs some help and some strength and blessings. Please rain down your blessings, your mercy and the light of understanding on this person. Relieve his depression, which is likely affecting his thought process and ability to cope. Strengthen him mentally and physically, and help him and his family to persevere. Please bless and strengthen his relationship with his spouse and allow this couple to put the past behind them and go forward together with rebuilt trust. In Jesus’ name we humbly pray. Amen.
