A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty”, the “The Wonder Worker” because of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in their need. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being. You turned to God when the power of human beings could do no more, and you were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His cross to heal your affliction. I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:

Aided by your powerful intercession, I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God for His great goodness and mercy.

I am immensely grateful for all of your prayers. I wanted to give an update:
Rod had a bone scan done on the Blessed Mother’s Birthday and it did not show any spread of cancer into the bones. The doctors were surprised by this.
The not so good news is that the radiation oncologist does not recommend radiation at this time. According to the CT scan the cancer tumor is at the base at where the prostate once was and the lymph nodes are enlarged. Because of these findings they think the cancer already has, or will, manifest itself somewhere else in the body and that radiation would be of no real benefit if this is the case. So they want to wait three months to see what the cancer will do and how it responds to hormone therapy. They want to repeat the CT scan and PSA in three months and then they will decide to either radiate the bulky cancer areas in the pelvis or just continue with the hormone therapy. I am so upset, and even angry, that Rod didn’t follow through with the radiation three years ago; especially when I hear of other men who are now in remission because they followed through with radiation. The oncologist said that at this stage there is no guarantee of survival. I am heart-broken.

Prayer for a Miracle
God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal this husband. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. Despite what the doctors say if this be Your Will I ask you to send forth your healing power into this husband’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
