I’m just curious, what hymnal(s) do your Church or Parish use?
It seems like everyone is using the CBWIII, or Glory & Praise, or the New English Hymnals. There HAS to be more than that!
God Bless :signofcross::byzsoc:

Pssst…If I don’t have it in the poll box, just tell us in a reply 😃

My home parish uses *Gather *exclusively.

My vacation parish uses Adoremus, OCP’s Music Issue and Respond and Acclaim.

I have told my director that we probably can’t use *Gather *for responsorial psalms because they do not match the lectionary, but neither him nor the pastor were sufficiently concerned to spend the money on the correct musical settings…

In our parish it’s CBW II & III in the pews and, come November, “Celebrate in Song”.

The choir director has some copies of the very old Glory & Praise 1, 2, 3, the little soft-cover booklets dating back to '77, '80 & '82. They’ll sometimes pull them out for a session of Carey Landry songs but I’m convinced they only do it when they’re mad at me for some reason.😃

My parish uses OCP’s Breaking Bread for music and Respond & Acclaim for all the responsorial psalms and gospel acclamations. I really like the Respond & Acclaim since the musical scores are easy for the assembly, and the texts are verbatim with the Lectionary.

Gather PLUS an ‘other’ which is a parish made bound worship aid which contains Gregorian chant settings for Ordinary Time, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter for the Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, as well as chants such as Adoro Te Devote, Salve Regina, Ave Verum, and some wonderful ‘standards’ like Panis Angelicus, O God Beyond All Praising (Thaxted), Ora et Labora, hymns to St. Dominick, and various hymns for Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Eastertide. . .

We’re using OCP’s Unidos en Cristo (and the accompanying Respond and Acclaim & Responde y Aclama for psalms & Gospel acclamations). Unidos en Cristo is an attempt at being a bilingual hymnal and missalette; I really don’t like it. What I find (as the music director) is that it ends up doing a disservice to all languages involved - English, Spanish, and Latin (which can barely be found). I didn’t have any choice in the selection as it had been made long before I started at this parish…

One of the first things our new rector did upon arrival was to get rid of the old hymnals (I think they were of the Gather variety) and install the Adoremus hymnal. He scrounged several hundred of these from one of the other parishes.

GIAs ritualsong

well be getting new ones soon not sure which ones yet

We use what is in the hymn section of our J.S. Paluch/WLP Seasonal Missalette.

We have the Collegeville Hymnal and the Parish Book of Chant.

We use GIA’s Gather, but we also have the Supplemental, which is full of (typically OCP) songs not found in the Gather.

The Supplemental material is some of the worst music inflicted on mankind. It’s a shame we spend money on it. Gather has some really good tunes (and some stinkers), and I can’t imagine why our parish throws its money away on the Supplmental.

Our OF parishes use anything OCP :bighanky: Some of us have been pushing the"Parish Book of Chant" No luck so far.

Can’t compete against $3.00 a copy.

Ritual Song: A Hymnal and Service Book for Roman Catholics

My parish uses the “We Celebrate” hymnals with the WLP “Psalms & Ritual Music” for our responsorial psalms and gospel acclamation. They are much better than what’s offered in “Respond and Acclaim”.

I’m not Catholic but the parish I used to attend used Gather. I attended another parish on Sunday and they also used Gather.

We currently have OCP Breaking Bread and Flor y Canto.

I want the St. Michael Hymnal.

Ha, I forgot to say my own 😊

For the NO, parishes use the CBW III or II, and something OCP which the name I can’t remember. In some places the St Basil’s Hymnal is still used.

For the EF, we have our own little booklet.
