I disagree. I don’t believe that the answers given in several posts above by 1ke are the Church’s definitions or the Church’s teachings or the Church’s answers. They are the answers of a person posting under the name ‘1ke’. Those answers are stated in an emphatic pseudo-authoritative manner, but without a sound theological argument. And, as I explained above, 1ke’s interpretation of that document from the CDF does not take into account, or even mention, the Church’s teaching in Vertitatis Splendor on the three fonts of morality.They are not my definitions. They are the Church’s.
If she does not want to opt for periodic continence, she can opt for complete continence.
What she cannot do is opt to contravene the moral law.
She asked for the Catholic teaching on the matter. That is the answer that has been given.
My answers above are my theological opinion based on the teachings of Veritatis Splendor on the basic principles of morality. I offer a theological argument to support my opinion.
