With the Grace of God and with the intercession of St. Teresa of Avila, I’ve got my Faith back.
I got the EWTN Newsletter in the mail and as I was reading it, Grace filled my heart and soul. The newsletter had “I am a daughter of the Church” is what St. Teresa of Avila once said and she remained faithful to them through trials, temptations, etc. and THAT right there immediately warmed my soul and heart and I knew from the intercession of the saint I could sense her telling me, “YOU too are also a daughter of the Church and must return!” and joy and hope was in me big time. I knew at that moment that I too am a daughter of the Church and the gates of Hell will NOT prevail against the CC, therefore, I will NOT let the gates of Hell prevail against MY faith or emotions, feelings, etc. because I am part of that Church! I too must remain faithful to Jesus through trial, temptations as well, even emotions and feelings. Same goes with you guys. Whether you guys think I’m nuts thinking that or not, I don’t care, I must return to the CC ASAP.
Now, first of all, let me just say that the reason why I was so emotional and you guys thought I was perhaps insane so to speak was because (1) the devil was behind it and (2) it was an excercise to not base faith on emotions or feelings but to trust.
I was totally upset from some posts that were on here due to the fact that some people here said that they were getting mad because I didn’t listen to the advice here, etc. and I don’t like making people mad and I didn’t have the intention. Though I was so emotional and disoriented that the way I posted may have gotten some angry and I apologize for that but like I said, had no intention.
Now I have come to realize I was hit by a 2x4 between the eyes spiritually. I was basing my faith way too much on my emotions and feelings and I went to Jesus and told HIm how I felt and I could sense Him saying to me “Don’t be basing your Faith on your emotions or feelings. You have to learn to be faithful to Me and trust Me no matter what.”
I was looking at the crucifix that hangs on my wall and medidated on it for awhile. Then somehow, I really knew that our Lord had suffered for us big time. That made me realize that my sufferings should be united with His on the Cross, therefore, I am willing to suffer what I suffer because He suffered for me. The words from St. Teresa of Avila still remain strong in the back of my mind and deep in my soul and must remain faithful to them as well.
I don’t care what you guys think of me getting my faith back like this, I’ve just got a joy that’s way beyond mere emotions or feelings deep deep in my soul and nothing can take that away because it’s truly from God Almighty.
BTW, my emotions and feelings don’t get in the way anymore. Now I understand.
