Well Follow Yeshua, you certainly are an agreeable person :). I know it is overwhelming to answer so many questions from so many of us when there is one of you - so I do thank you. To follow up more on my question,
You said “I have no church” but Jesus said he established a Church. He also said that the Church is the Pillar of Truth. We are also commanded to take our issues to The Church. I can provide scripture for these if you need, but I assume you know which I am referring to. So IF the has a Church it likely the one that gave the word the bible, i.e. the Catholic Church - so why estrange yourself from it?
MercyMia,

Thanks for your kind words. I really do like taking questions from my Catholic brothers and sisters. So far as not belonging to a specific church that is something I’m lacking spiritually and I will be the first to admit that to you. We need fellowship and sound teaching to edify the body of Christ. I also subscribe that I am a spiritual stone that make up the body of Christ

I Peter 2
4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

My main reason for the exile from the Church is Mary. It has nothing to do with not wanting to submit to a woman, or seeing women as weak (Mary was a strong servant of the Lord and Blessed among women.) Heck I venerate my wife and I praise her and thank her so no means am I the alpha-male controller who won’t submit to a woman. Its just something that I was convicted of. And that’s what brings my separation.

Jesus Christ is the Word made Flesh.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

God bless.
Amen! Yeshua the Lamb came in the flesh. Ascended into his rightful place at the right hand of the father and will return in the flesh to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end!

One of the best things that ever happened to me was when I left behind the church of my family and its teachings. I was sincerely looking to find an experience of faith and spirituality that was real for me. I quit going to Mass, quit the Sacraments and started dabbling in any and everything( spiritually).

I was hungry to follow Jesus as HE called me to. Through God’s grace, I realized I was starving. More than anything I wanted to be connected to my God. After exploring many schools of thought, philosophies, “spiritualities” nothing connected me to my God. As the circle came round, I started really looking at what the Catholic church has to offer.Soon I realized it offers us the opportunity to unite with Jesus in a way no other individual or group can- in the way He has given us.-through the Eucharist.

I read once that if someone fully understood what was offered at Mass he could never want to be any place but there. Praise to our Eucharistic Lord! I don’t want to be anywhere else. Going off on my own was necessary to bring me home. I thank God I made it back before it was to late for me.

If anyone thought it possible to unite to the Lord’s body and blood soul and divinity, how could they not want to experience it. My prayer is that you will come to believe it is possible and then come to faith in it and then move whatever mountains so that you can have it._HIM.

Please pray for me as I pray for you.

The Church does not ask you to “submit” to Mary as you seem to imply. If you were
“convicted”, I can quarantee that it was not the doing of the Holy Spirit. It was probably
one of the many faces of the Great Deceiver. Our Lord fulfilled the commandment to
Honor thy mother and Father perfectly. “And we are simply called to imitate Him.” (this
quote from “Catholic for a Reason II” by Scott Hahn & Leon J. Suprenant,Jr)
Know that you have my prayer on your journey. (…Home. Hopefully sooner rather than
later.)

I’ll start, what drew you away, and where are you now?
Thanks for asking Edyson. My fiance’ at the time had been in a horrible accident and was banged up pretty bad. We had a one year old son at the time and I had to be the sole provider for him for some time. I come from a traditional Catholic Hispanic family where the man o’ the house does his best to provide for his family but leaves much of the care of the little ones to the woman. I was scared out of my mind! I needed God’s help. I started reading the Catholic Bible on the mantle.

As for now I don’t belong to a church. It’s just me and the word. And Jesus who I can’t see or touch. The separation I feel from my family and the alienation are what hurt the most.
Follow Yeshua, why did you abandon the Catholic Church?

Could you state clearly your reasons for leaving the chuch as you seem to have given two different answers.

It was both. My trying to seek out the Lord via the word of God while I was a Catholic and then studying on the apparitions of Mary led me to try validate “her” in the word. Unfortunately I couldn’t validate her. I have to be careful when discussing her because I speak not of Mary the mother of Jesus but I speak on the Mary that is appearing all over the world telling people to wear a scapular and they will not face the fires of hell for example.

Once again I do not want to prompt any of my Catholic brethren to anger. That is the difference.

From all your answers I notice that you faith is weak. To question your faith is good, for then you will increase in faith. If you cannot find an answer(s) to your question, either ask
you priest, bishop, or someone knowledgable, or even read the writings of the early fathers. Just leaving Christ’s one true Church for the reasons you have given is truly no
reason at all. Jesus has said to ask His Father for anything in His name and it will be given you. You should try it, it works. Remember " Lord, I believe, help my unbelief."

I hope you will reconsider you decision. If I may help in any way, please don’t hesitate to ask. God Bless.

Our Lord Himself chose her to be His mother. How much more could He validate her? He
also gave her to us as our mother. One may be very devout to our Lady or not, but one must respect her. As I said earlier, He was a perfect Son and we should follow his
example, but you need not believe in any apparition. As I heard one priest say, “Who
knows her Son better than His mother?” She calls for obedience to her Son and acts
as our intercessor. Neither role detracts from worship of Her Son, quite the contrary.

Follow Yeshua,

If you want my advice, you should seek God honestly and ask Him sincerely to guide you to the truth. You might think that you already have the truth, but then why are you so confused? You have to seek God and He will show you the right path that will lead you to satisfaction in this life, and eternal happiness in the hereafter.

Life is too short, you should find the truth now before it is too late!

You may pick my brain and ask anything you wish. I won’t bite I promise. I think its very important to learn about one another. If you have a family member that has left the Catholic Church I can give some insight on where he or she is coming from.

Thanks
DID YOUR CATHOLIC BAPTISM SAVE YOU???

IF yes? then why did you leave if you were saved in the Catholic church?

IF no? then what saved you?

I can never understand why someone would leave the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church for a symbolic presence that feeds on a persons emotions? Tell me what makes you feel so good outside the Catholic church? And maybe this will help me understand why people leave the True Presence of Jesus in the Catholic Church when worship is done in Spirit and Truth of the Presence of God, and not by ones emotions or self gratification?

Brother, I have no confusion on who I am to serve. I serve Yeshua Ha’mashiac and no other. I don’t always do right but his quickening spirit convicts me and guides me to springs of living water. In my flesh I am as a filthy rag torn by the corruption of sin that will exists till the day I die. When I can’t see him I will seek him out. When I can’t touch him I meditate on him. When I’m separated from him, his spirit will make intercession for me. I have no fear brother.

for those who will ask Yeshua Ha’mashiac is Jesus the Messiah. The name yeshua is more personable for me.

I will pray for you brother and you should pray for me.

Follow Yeshua,
Would you please respond to my posts? Thanks

My catholic baptism did not save me. I couldn’t logically comprehend the choice of choosing him in my honest opinion.

Well my friend it gives me no gratification nor do I seek attention to separate myself from my family members. It has great sadness.

What saved me was when I decided to rely on nor serve no other. I would not glorify any other name underneath the heavens other than Jesus the savior. Your right I do not have the Eucharist but I know by faith that his grace is sufficient and I will stand on his word that he will not leave me nor forsake me.

Faith is the evidence of the unseen. And that’s all I have
PM me and I will give you more detail if you like.

Did any of the Apostles practice sola scriptura?

Thanks.

I know what context you believe that to be and I can’t slight you for that. For me, I believe that Jesus’s name is THE WORD OF GOD and those who eat from him will not hunger. But that’s just my belief. Not to get into an apologetic war with you. Lets enjoy each others fellowship.

Bless you Charlie!
PS that’s my dad’s name…

You came to the largest Catholic Apologetics site in the world, proclaimed yourself an ex-Catholic, and invited us to ask you anything.

Now, you are saying that you don’t want to “get into an apologetic war” and that you just want to enjoy our fellowship.

Are you kidding? Do you really expect us to let you remain separated from the true Church founded by Jesus Christ upon Peter, the rock, and the successors of the apostles without a few pointed questions in response to your open invitation?

You want us to just join hands and sing “Kumbaya” with you???

Sorry TexCatholic I missed answereing you. The Lord couldn’t possibly validate Mary the mother of Jesus. She was given the highest honor to mother a delicate child who would grow to rule the nations and to make the earth his footstool. She had to put her life upside down to protect our King not that he needed protection but she was willing to do everything in her human power to see that the word was made manifest. I cannot say enough of her diligence and stewardship for the cause you and I strive for today. She was a warrior and so was Joseph (my 5 year old cannot pronounce it correctly and says Jo-phus…lol)

In fact after Jesus, she is the one who I will want to meet after Jesus on the day of resurrection.

If I believed that entity that appeared to St. Louis de Monfert (sp?) in the woods or appeared to St. Simon Stock was truely Mary I would continue on with my Catholic faith. But I am not required to have faith in this entity to be saved. My faith is 100% in Yeshua my king. I do not believe that entity to be Mary.

Pray for me

I will answer you with honesty. I just don’t want it to turn bad. Thats all.

I have thick skin.

Don’t know for sure but I do know they were well versed in the Prophets before them. As for me I can only go by the examples of Word of God. Thats all I have. Jehovah cannot be a liar so if something great contrasts his Word. I may not subscribe to it nor will I try to explain the reason for it.
