So what about matthew 16:18-19?

I know I’m going to look confrontational, I’m not, it’s just that I just saw this:

Like I said, not trying to be confrontational, but wouldn’t that contradict the Gospel a bit?
Very good question. I believe that your spirit resides with the lord when you pass. And on the 7th trumpet you spirit will united with your resurrected body. I don’t know if your spirit takes on any identifiable shape when you pass.

But I personally don’t think that you have a conscience existence and can look down on what is going down on earth. Why do I believe as such?

Paul writes in II Timothy 4
6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The Prophet Daniel Chapter 12
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days

Job 14
10But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12So man lieth down, and riseth not: **till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. **

All I can say is if that theif parished before the Lord did on Cavalry then he would be in Abraham’s bosom. But if he died after the Lord conquered sin and death, then he would be absent from the body and present with the lord (His Soul)

That’s the best I got lol

You can’t rely on the OT understanding of the afterlife because their understanding was incomplete.

Second, you can’t put the death of the thief and Jesus on a strict timeline because God is outside of time, and all of history is NOW for Him.

How was their understanding incomplete I don’t understand?

I wasn’t setting a time line on God I was trying to give the best answer to a really good question. I will be the first to admit when I don’t have an answer and then it something I can’t clearly answer.

why do you believe in the Trinity, when it is not specifically mentioned in Scripture, much like Marian doctrine?

2 Samuel 22
32For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
Psalms 18
31For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
Jesus called Peter a “rock” (It may have been a play on words, as “Peter” means rock)
Galations 2
7But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me (Paul,) as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
So, why did you leave the Church that Jesus had Peter found?
🙂

Oh a loaded question…lol

Ok let me do this.

God the Father I worship him
God the Son I worship the lamb yes I do
The Holy spirit is dispensed from the father through the son meaning a part of him lives in us.

Do I worship the spirit? I sure hope so because God is a quickening spirit

There is no trinity in the bible but it is a package deal. You and I both know it

I almost feel you searching for a bible passage that explicitly states the Trinitarian formula right now…

I have the tradition of the church to know its true, how do you know? If you don’t accept doctrine like Marian dogma that is not explicit in scripture, how do you decide what to believe, and what not to believe? And how do you come to believe in certain extra biblical doctrine, the Trinity, and not others?

-EDIT-

And a last follow up, what if you’re wrong? How do you know if you’re wrong? Or are you infallible in your interpretation of scripture?

Extra biblical doctrine?
The bible says that the spirit searches all things. Also the spirit intercedes for us when we know not what to say Rom 8:26

I do believe in the father son and the holy spirit because of the testimony of the word. I don’t know what your angle is? Are you on to something? Am I missing something?
Because I used the word Trinity with your baited question? Maybe I should of said Trio?
Tell me what do I believe that is outside of the bible?

Why would we choose not to honor Mary? Honor is not worship; worship is due to God alone,

So when John haven been given the Revelation and spoke of the Sovereignty of Jesus in those chapters. Giving him names such as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. With that being said do you think John who knew more about the deity of Christ than you and I combined did the following to worship this angel as God? Or was her merely “Honoring”

8And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

9Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God

Was he worshiping or honoring?

You may pick my brain and ask anything you wish. I won’t bite I promise. I think its very important to learn about one another. If you have a family member that has left the Catholic Church I can give some insight on where he or she is coming from.

Thanks
Sweet! Question and answer games…
How did you get saved?

We kept it pretty civil thanks be to God. hahah

Well I thought I was saved back in 89 but I was only 15. I believed in Jesus but I couldn’t tell you one trait about him. Only when I started to understand his sovereignty and the fulfillment of the prophets words that I knew he was the Christ and I believed. That was in 98.

Fine.

How is it not reasonable then to accept Jesus and Mary, the Queen Mother, as a package deal?

(In the Davidic kingdom, the mothers of the kings were the Queens - not the wives.)

I’m not really sure what you’re trying to say, but since you mention John, who cared for Mary after the crucifixion until her death, let’s consider the fact that John references her in Revelation 12 as “a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars”.

As I stated in a previous post, Jesus is the king of kings, and Mary, His mother, is His Queen according to the custom of the Davidic kingdom.

Thoughts on honoring Mary now?

Follow Yeshua,

How’s it going brother? Hey, I posted this on another thread but I saw you were discussing the same verse so I thought I’d offer it up for your consideration (my apologies to Rod Serling there).

“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship (proskyneo) before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.” (Rev. 3:9–Jesus speaking)

"And I John saw these things, and heard [them]. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship(proskyneo) before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship(proskyneo) God." (Rev. 22:8.9).

Why would Jesus say he would cause the liars in Revelation 3:9 to “worship” someone other than God, while the angel in 22:8.9 says do not “worship” (proskyneo–same word) any but God if there isn’t a difference between veneration and worship? What was the difference in what Jesus said He would cause the liars to do, and what John was attempting to do towards the angel? To my mind, there must be a difference between “worship” and veneration or else Jesus would not have told the Church that he would cause liars to “worship” before their feet, especially since it was Christ Himself that said so. I think John went overboard, which is why the angel said what he did.

All my best . . .
