I am a little scared........strange things going on in our house

Besides others’ good advices, I’d like to say that … be calm and take this opportunity to pray together with your wife. You said that she wasn’t a Catholic, then ask God to take this opportunity to help your wife to know more about the Catholic faith and someday she’ll become Catholic.

It is creepy, but this is a great opportunity for you to introduce Catholic faith to your wife really – Don’t forget to ask Virgin Mary to help you … along with other Saints. – Pray the Rosary.

this is most illogical i presume a household diveded will not stand and put no family or friends above the lord thy god. it is humanily suggested you have to like the person for who they are not who you want them to be. your suggestion intails basically that you are going to pray and everything else forgive confession for what ever degree so you can only be around catholics and never spread the word of god and that others can be saved. well its a big world out there 6 billion people strong THERE NOT ALL CATHOLIC

There’s one thing I would add to the list of things to do to get rid your creepies - Have the Sacred Heart of Jesus properly enthroned in your home. It will do two things: the Priest doing the Enthronement won’t need to believe that your house is haunted before you can get him to come over. The second thing is that Enthronement of the Sacred Heart carries with it some spiritual promises and these include protection for the family members in the home where the Sacred Heart is on display and respected. Just ask to have it done, and make sure the family participates. **That will ensure that a Priest blesses your home without the delays that will surely pop up when you mention the fact you need a blessing because you believe your house to be haunted. ** Comprende?

I’m a little concerned that your wife watched these “shadows” for an hour and thought them cool before waking you. Since you don’t know what occured in that hour, I would insist as the head of household your wife begin learning about these things from a Christian perspective. It may make things tough on her for a while, but she’ll respect you later on. (O God! The feminists are going to attack me for that one! :o )

I keep a St. Michael the Archangel statue in my home, (among other things) and have a growing devotion to him. He helps me feel protected too!

basically all im saying without church going pastors to unposses people or our home then sounds like your doomed to do it on your own ill show proof hold on.
 
I imagine someone is not happy with your increased piety.

In addition to the house blessing, you can ask your priest to say a Mass for you in your home.

I have really been trying to bring myself closer to God the last few weeks and have really strengthened my devotion to our Blessed Mother. I’m just wondering if this is related at all… It’s getting a little scary because this much activity hasn’t happened in such a short amount of time…Any suggestions??? Please help!

You need to have a priest bless your house and every room in it. Do it soon.

I agree. That bothers me as well. Even though your wife is not Catholic, is she a Christian?

That really should not be the question. Demonic activity happens to get your attention, gets your focus off God, gets you frightened and excited. The question should be not ‘why?’ but what to do to stop it.

The suggestion to call your priest and have him bless the house thoroughly is a very good one. I would not waste any more energy on a single thought for this activity and who or what is causing it or why it is happening.

Get your priest over there and move on with your life.

Be converted yourself first, and then you can worry about your wife. Often when one spouse converts, the other receives the grace to follow.

I second Leonie’s comment. You said you’ve been trying to draw nearer to God recently, as well as strengthening your devotion to our Blessed Mother. Satan doesn’t like that…it sounds to me like he might be trying to intimidate you.

Go with all the other posters’ recommendations about getting your home blessed, staying close to Jesus in the Sacraments, etc. Don’t back off of your devotion to God and Mary – stay close to them and they will protect you. God bless!

Although I think a house blessing and holy water are both very good ideas.
 
I think that if you pray and get the house blessed then if you need to know why it happened you will know. God will let you know what it means. Maybe not in this life, though.

She didn’t watch them for an hour and then wake me…if I said that, it’s not what I meant, sorry! She told me and I woke up and saw them, said some prayers and went back to sleep. She thought the fact that the shadows would not pass below the Cruicifix was neat. This was the second occurence in 3 days. Maybe I’m a little bold in saying that I know God won’t let anything hurt us without His permission. I just don’t want stuff like that hanging around the house, you know? But it was pretty freaky.

On the part about my wife being a Christian, she was raised Baptist but is non-practicing. By the way, I am the head of the household. My 3 boys (ages 9,6 and 3 😃 ) are all baptized Catholic and we are very involved in the Church. Thanks for the advice though, it does make it hard sometimes to talk about stuff like this, but thats what you guys are for!!! 😃 She did respect the power of Holy Water and the Crucifix, which is a good little way to evangelize! Thanks for the advice guys, I still have not talked to my pastor about coming to bless the house, I was sick Sunday and didn’t make it to Mass. But hopefully I will this Sunday. Things have died down for now, maybe whatever it was realized I wasn’t scared when I used the weapons we have…

david, get that place blessed by a priest who knows about that kind of thing. do not wait. keep praying, and do not alow sinful things in your home. don’t mess with these things, but ignore them as best you can. get that house blessed- it sounds like an infestation.
 
Have your house blessed ASAP. That is the most important thing you can do at this time. If it continues, discuss it with the priest. Do not wait.
