There is a thread for the questions here you brought up and think I put "A ’ through enough last week with this subject so for "A"s sake this is I will answer to the satement you made here and leave it at that.

When a Woman is pregnant there are two seperate and distinct forms of human life.

Science does not refute this.

What is within her is life and is Human.

U.S. law regards the baby in the womb as a seperate life just ask the thousands of men and women serving life or death sentences for the man slughter or killing of such a life.

The U.S, Military considers the bab in the womb a seperate life. Just try to join if your wife is pregnant with your 3rd child. The baby in the womb is called a dependent.

Undestand the Catholic Church is not aganist stem cell research one of the biggest mis-nomers by the press out there.

Thee Catholic Church is aganist the harvesting of Human Life in embryotic stem cell research.

This is truly a path that even a moral atheist does not want to go down.

Which for the most part is human cloning
Hi 659
You still didn’t answer my question.

Um, you’ve commited quite a few logical fallacies here. If you want a list of arguments that you should not use in a debate, visit this website: unc.edu/depts/wcweb/handouts/fallacies.html

There is no truth to an invisible man making people out of dirt, talking snakes and such. THIS is ridiculous.

There is no truth in genesis. The authors were goat salesmen who thought the earth was flat. If they were inspired by god whey would have got it right.
“ad hominem” - Attacking a person’s authority does not prove your argument. Anyway, how do you even know who wrote Genesis?
Hi Pax

If god gave us humans the bible as a guidebook, why does it have to be so hard to understand? Why isn’t it simple for the whole world to understand??
“appeal to pity” - It’s your own fault if you don’t bother to try to understand the Bible. That doesn’t justify disbelief in Christianity. However, we will help you to understand if you want us to.

Hi, everyone. I think this is an interesting article concerning attacks on religion/atheism: uwgb.edu/dutchs/PSEUDOSC/10DumRel.htm

This professor writes in a way that makes it difficult to tell if he’s religious or not (and maybe it’s better that way), but he usually tries to be fair in defending either the religious or unbelievers when illogical statements are made about them. Here’s his main page for “Science, Pseudoscience, and Irrationalism”: uwgb.edu/dutchs/pscindx.htm
And did everyone completely ignore this?

Hold on, you may not think that our evidence is convincing, but that does not justify your statement. Can you prove logically that miracles never happen?
Hi Cta.

Of course not. Nor can i prove the tooth fairy visits on occasions.

I can take and photochop pictures easily, but I have some weird spots which conflict with doing it professionally.
One is that I will not sign ‘intellectual property’ over to someone. If they want to steal it, great! But if they try to make money off it, I would take action.
There are other reasons, but that is one of the biggies. I do like sharing them, though.
I don’t even know if I would like it anymore if there were money attached…

The pics were nice.🙂

Hi

I used to be a christian. I’ve read the bible many times, but it has been a few years. I don’t know exactly what the catholic church teaches on genesis (thanks for the link though). Everyone “interprets” it to fit into reality. It says something different.

Hi

My NIV bible credits it to moses. I don’t believe that for a second. It doesn’t matter who wrote it. They seem to be a bit off on the facts. 🙂

Hi CTA

I’ll give you the rest, 🙂 but you were off on this one. I used to be a christian. I did read and try to understand the bible. That is why i am an atheist, because i do understand the bible.
It’s all bull butter.

Hi

You asked me what i would take as evidence. If you pray that god teraforms the moon like earth in six days it should come true because jesus said your prayers would be answered.

If this happened i would not think it was a natural phenomeon. You asked what i would take as evidence and i would take this as evidence.

Of course this is not going to happen because your prayer is not going to come true. You can qoute scripture till the cows come home and it still isn’t evidence.
So what about when I prayed to God to take my friend’s cancer away/make it disappear or be benign and the VERY NEXT DAY part of the cancer disappears and the other part is declared benign… You would say that’s just a natural phenomenon…

If insults are the best you have, then I’ll take it I won that debate…🤷

Unless you have felt anothers feelings, this is nonsense.
You admit that you are not happy here, but might be after you die. You want me to believe that, but you want me to doubt a woman who says that she is happy.
Your statement would be a lot tougher to believe.
The promise which you believe without evidence. You would stop a womans real happiness now in favour of your promised (but never proven) happiness later.
Very selfish. Why not just accept her word that she is happy and leave it at that?
You can’t know what someone else feels.
Because it’s not just her happiness we’re concerned about it’s also the happiness and life of her baby. A scientifically accepted human being. And no one said we had to be unhappy, but that happiness on this earth isn’t our main goal.

Hi Pax

If god gave us humans the bible as a guidebook, why does it have to be so hard to understand? Why isn’t it simple for the whole world to understand??
Why is math so difficult? Why are relationships so difficult? Why is rocket science so difficult?

Get serious…study and educate yourself. If mundane and technical aspects of life can be difficult and complicated, why should the important things be oversimplified?

A grand symphony is a complex thing of great beauty. Scripture is even better.

Christians maybe, but not Catholics. We’re quite clear on what to believe.

Okay, let’s break this down. What part of genesis do you take literally? Do you believe a talking snake (satan) convinced a woman (made from the rib of a man) to eat a forbidden fruit in a magical garden. She then convinced a man (made from dirt) to eat the fruit, which was a no,no from god. This brought the fall of man.
If you don’t take this literally, how did the fall of man happen???
Why do you take such an incredibly condescending approach to scripture? Sarcasm and condescension is inappropriate particularly when you have such an uninformed approach to the bible.

I do believe that Satan tempted Adam and Eve. Satan is described in Genesis in terms of a serpent to illustrate the danger and hostility of a cunning beast of the field that will lay in ambush. Is it really that difficult to appreciate the language and descriptions along with their purpose?

You complained and questioned the reference to Adam as having been taken from the earth/dirt. As an atheist you probably subscribe to the theory of Evolution. Why is it, therefore, so difficult to understand the use of this poetic terminology to describe the methods of God’s creative force?

Why is it so difficult to understand that the eating of the fruit is a word picture to describe some serious form of disobedience to God? Why is it so difficult to see that the tree described in the Garden is the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and that eating the fruit of this tree means something other than eating a simple fruit? Why is it that you cannot make the connection between these things and Satan’s statement to Adam and Eve that if they disobeyed God that “they would be like God”?

Look for the message. Reading scripture as if it is a First Grade Reader does an injustice to scripture. Likewise, it impedes understanding, and it would become rather boring in almost no time at all. Scripture is one of the few things in life that cannot be exhausted in terms of its beauty, breadth, depth, meaning, and power. You can only appreciate this if you understand what it is and what it is not. It’s not a child’s fairy tale as you seem to suggest.
