I had a beautiful day out with some friends, I thought you might enjoy if I shared it with you.
There are 3 posts worth of pictures, but I will try to keep them together for you.
This was far enough for my truck, the boards looked solid enough, but I had no cell service and an eight-year-old with me. No big risks.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This is some weed that grows everywhere. Quite pretty this time of year.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This is three focuses (foci?) on a tree branch…
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

what is this in the small box?
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This is zoomed view.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Any ideas, anyone?

Here are some seed-pods (sorry, I don’t know what kind they are)
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

These are a clump of pine cones (squirrel ammo? I would hate to have the downhill side of that battle!)
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Here is a big mushroom measured against my size 12 shoe.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This is a path we wandered down looking for pretty pictures.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

A pair of mushrooms which caught my eye.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Mushroom from below.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Here is another interesting mushroom. Not interesting enough to eat, but nice to look at.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Here were a couple of mushrooms in a tree (actually, there were about 5). We suspect squirrels.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This is just a big, shiny mushroom (I don’t remember ever seeing this many around here - maybe I should get out more.)
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

This might look like mushrooms, but it is really moose scat. Just in case you ever wondered what it looked like.

Do lichen bloom? Is this lichen? Is it blooming if it is?
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Darren8306/Lichenblooming.jpg

Just a bit of lichen, and beside it not a lichen but what a friend called a ‘wort’.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Darren8306/Lichenandother.jpg

A Saskatoon-berry bush leaf.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Darren8306/Leaf2.jpg

There are some beautiful bright colours around here this time of year.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Darren8306/Leaf.jpg

Some dandelion-looking thing gone to seed.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Darren8306/Gonetoseed.jpg

And finally, what I hope is the last kill of the season. I am a gentle person, and don’t like to kill unnecessarily, but those suckers drink my blood! I cannot let it go on.

I hope you enjoy these pictures. Please let me know what you think.

ok, for one thing. are you thinking satan and lucifer are the same? cause they’re not. moving on,
they simply laughed at you. why? humans have become a bore to them. why humans destroy each other on their own. playing with dark matter like its a toy or the whole bashing atoms together at speed of light like its a game to toy with the earth! (ok,ok,ok, look theres more awful things going to happen and are busy right now to deal with silly humans—hey thats what they said. i try to watch over the well-being of the humankind)
you make your people look bad by joking around or think its funny for others the speak their mind that doesnt agree with you. thats the games lu and satan played before. faith or not, it doesnt save you. what saves you is how you treat your fellow people with respect! loving thy neighbors is not belittling thy neighbors. he asked a question, u should answer heartily not bitterly.
You sound as if you have some kind of religious background, you also sound as if you think God has failed you sometime in your past. Why are you so up set? Why are you bashing people that are trying to help you understand. There has to be another reason than what you have stated to feel the way you feel. Yes I will continue to pray for you even if you mock me as will the others who have tried to help you. You don’t want to try to understand, I think you should go see a priest and ask for help in trying to understand what faith is. God Bless You and be with you and yours always

And why worship at all? Would your energies not be better spent providing for your community?
The first and greatest commandments in this religion are;
Love God
Love your neighbour

Love your neighbour; the community in general always benefits from goodwill.

Love God; gives you a reason why you should.

Pictures are pretty. I’m a nature lover as well. What is your gear? I recently bought a Canon 450D. Unfortunately, i’m in alot of pain right now as i’m suffering from a disc herniation of the spine. On top of that, i had an epileptic seizure three months ago. Not exactly the best times, but i’m hoping to make good use of the camera when the pain is a little bit more tolerable (i hope!).

You know, we should have a forum to discuss about gears and gadgets, etc. Apologies for sidetracking.

Wow! Beautiful images. I wish I had such beauty as that in my area of the country. I truly enjoyed your photos and you look like pretty much a professional.

Oh well, just wanted to tell you that they are lovely, but don’t want to change the topic of the thread.

Glad you enjoyed your day in God’s beautiful world. Thank you Lord for smiling upon one of your children.

👍

Where have you ever heard that satan and lucifer are two separate angels? They are one and the same as far as I know. Lucifer was the most beautiful angel of all, and he wanted to be God. He fell from grace and thrown out of heaven with the angels that followed him. I believe he is a/k/a satan. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I know you will mock me and laugh at me, and that’s okay. I’m not mad at you but I will surely pray for you. You are after all, one of his own sheep that for now is choosing to be outside of His fold. He will forever be calling you or you wouldn’t be here on this forum. You are so loved and don’t even know it. I’m so sad about that.

:blessyou: :gopray2:
here’s the difference between lu and satan. lu was created by god, son of god (no,no,no, not like jesus!) however god is still lu’s father. trust me they are different beings. satan however is son of man, created from mankind. the catholic church is based on faith only and no or very little knowledge. a priest from a church told me that today. such small details would not be in the catholic bible.

now i read your reply this time. it seem more honest and serious this time. and i thank you. you were being very rude to the atheist and i was speaking for him, not me. i could care less how you feel about my path of life and spirit and i talked to another (older priest) about my paths. he listen with an earnest mind and heart. but in the end i told him to follow his path of life and spirit as should you. but you should keep an open mind that there’s no right one path for everyone. be careful how you speak to others from now on. there is a big difference how you posted the first time and what you posted this time. and no, im not angry. so many people has put me down for the paths i have walk that it became to silly to be angry. but sometimes i get protective of others well-being. and im not an atheist either, just to get that strait.

blessings for the path you travel on.

u got it wrong, the way the person was being sarcastic to atheist upset me. i felt the person should’ve said it in a more earnest way. thats what set me off. but the next reply was better so i let it go. im not try to make you guys agree with me and I Dont Have Problems with God. we are getting along just fine ^^. i just dont worship him. its beyond your understanding, because you wont believe it-- not trying to rude. and if it makes you feel better i have spoken with two priests today. a young one (blow me off, but i still smile and said have a nice day) and an older one. he was fun to talk to, but he still prays for me…sigh i dont need it T.T . and i have his email and will keep talking to him for now on. so this whole bull “pyreshadow hates catholics” can be dropped now. all im doing here is trying to find the right person in here that has knowledge of all sorts of books and knowledge of angels and ask one question. so far i found no one. but thats okay. faith is the way to go and it makes you guys happy. and im not being mean by saying. im glad you found your paths. keep up the good work ^^.
but some catholics have other knowledge most do not and im going to find the person if its the last thing i do.

ok have a day everyone ^_^. try to be nice and a little open-minded. im sure if being open-minded wasnt part of the forums this would be catholics only forum. we can all learn from each other if we just open up a little bit and be more earnest. simply the story of me is “been there, done that…not my thing” there was not hate or anger involved.

:tsktsk: Pyreshadow, I am totally shocked that you felt I was insulting A. I apoligize it if sounded that way, but wasn’t meant like that at all. I was only trying to be helpful to him in matters of faith. Guess I should have kept my mouth shut on this one. No wonder they say never discuss politics and religion:shrug:

Anyway, just wanted you to know that, because you are very important to God and one of his children as I am, and may I never be guilty of hurting another

I guess I could get a little judgmental at times. Don’t mean to though. I will be more careful and take your advice on that if you feel I sounded a little ‘bossy’ maybe lol.

I do like you. You have a great personality. I will be hanging out here and there. For now I shall go and rest.

The peace of the Lord be upon you.:grouphug:

Hislittlelady,

“Someone like you really piques my interest. I totally love the fact that you even bother coming onto a Catholic forum”

thats what really pushed my button. not very earnest at all, but no grudges hold. not asking you to burst in tears. just a simple advice how to treat those who are not one of your own. it can hurt those (not all, some would just get mad or laugh.) and feel that this is not the place for them. you seem not to understand where you went wrong and it seem like you really want to know so that you wont hurt other people. i pointed it out for you earnestly. i hope one day we could understand each others paths and respect them. but i wont push it. one day i may drop if i am pushed too far.

rest well ^_^.

You are correct. Sounded terribly condescending, but wasn’t at all meant like that. I truly do apologize for this offense.

I will be certain not to use that type of expression again.

Thank you so much for pointing this out to me. I appreciate it more then you know.

Please do not leave for a small misunderstanding. Honesty is the best policy and you sure did use that policy.

God bless you and sweet dreams
:o :crossrc:

Thank you very much, cathopologist. My Sweetheart just got me (for my birthday!) a Pentax K200D with a Tamron 1:1 F2.8 lens.
I would surely be tossed from this forum if I quoted myself using all the expletives and other excited shouting which I used when I got it.
To all of you out there with your own sweetheart, treat them extremely well, and you might get a nice camera (though I have had some pretty special hugs over the years, too!)

I think pursuing art and beauty can make pain much more manageable. Well, that and a very competant and attentive doctor.
You know, we should have a forum to discuss about gears and gadgets, etc. Apologies for sidetracking.
I would not worry about sidetracking, being an atheist gets in to every part of my life, from my love of nature, to my dislike of faith presented as fact (I mean come on - if it were fact, faith would not have value!).

Wander the conversation wherever it will go. I like to try to include everyone.
Wow! Beautiful images.
Thanks, Hislittlelady, I had a lot of fun taking them!
I wish I had such beauty as that in my area of the country.
Without knowing which area you are in, I can say that you have much beauty, though you may have become a little too used to it. I suggest crawling around on your hands and knees chasing bugs and such. There is tremendous beauty in nature, and much of it is tiny.
I truly enjoyed your photos and you look like pretty much a professional.
Thanks again, but let’s not slight the professionals too much. I am merely an enthusiastic hobbyist who is slowly learning how to photograph.
I posted only the best of the several hundred pictures I took that day.
Oh well, just wanted to tell you that they are lovely, but don’t want to change the topic of the thread.
With such a broad title as I have chosen, you don’t have to worry about the ‘topic’ so much. You see your god in this beauty, I see what little I understand of biology, and unless I miss my guess, we both stand in AWE of what beauty can come from a simple fungus.
Guess I should have kept my mouth shut on this one. No wonder they say never discuss politics and religion:shrug:
I think you guessed wrong, if I may be so bold.
Go ahead and disagree. Seldom do I learn from those who agreed with me.
Anyway, just wanted you to know that, because you are very important to God and one of his children as I am, and may I never be guilty of hurting another
People hurt each other all the time. I think the trick is to minimize it when you can, and when you can’t, pay close attention to the results and take what action seems appropriate. If you hurt someone, prayer may help you, but apologizing can help THEM!

That’s funny. I don’t love any of the imaginary characters from bible class, and I have found plenty of good reasons.

here’s a thought most seem not to see.
on the :bible1: bible, there are the 😃 “others”.

:hmmm: hmmm lets see, “others”… Maybe that means the “others” are not gods 🙂 people. (not evil, just not his.). sooo, maybe the neighbors is the “others”. i find it silly to say love your own kind. duh, u should. or is that out of the catholic bible as well (the whole “others” thing)? so moving on . what i am saying is that, “others” have their own paths they follow. love them for who they are, not pity them.

just chew on that thought for a bit. …maybe a minute… or two?
Just a Thought. thats all, not saying i am 👍 right in anyway. its just a thought. really guys, i would be a failure and a :doh2: 😊 embarrassment to the catholic church. i think too much for my own good. i really do. the younger priest thought i was crazy (he hurt my feelings T.T). so maybe thats the bug up my nerves. 🤷 idk.

My husband and I were married for almost 40 years before he converted to the CC. He was an athiest most of his life and about 12 years before he converted he read in the newspaper a report that Gerald Schroeder, a Jew, a Physisist from Israel, was coming to South Africa to give a talk on his book Genisis and the Big Bang. My husband was intrigued and suggested we attend. Very interesting talk (way above my head) and my husband purchased the book - a few days later as we were crossing the street (in the middle of traffic) my husband said, "I think there is something there - maybe I am beginning to believe…) Shock! I almost got run over!😃

He went on to read “The Hidden Face of God” by the same author and became convinced. Apparently many Scientists come to a stage where they are baffled and have to admit that the only logical explanation is that there has to be a force which they will never be able to explain. Obviously, being a scientist is not an obstacle to believing in God and beleiving in God is not an obstacle to being a scientist. To say that belief in science and belief in God are not compatible is not borne out by the experience of thousands of scientists. ):yup:

So it was a Jewish scientist who led my husband to believing in God and the Catholic Church! God had a sense of humour.:extrahappy:

The problem is that we live in an age when there are many people who live more comfortably than ever, science and technology have advanced and perhaps we feel more powerful and in control. We have become little gods. I am not sure. I do know that there are Athiests who try to believe - that is in God’s hands - he has go give the gift of Faith.:gopray2:

So, if you do not believe in God, ask Him and don’t give up! “God reveal yourself to me”. Who knows how he might respond?!! Maybe you could threaten him - you could say, "God, if you do not answer my request, I will tell your Mother!😛

This is spectacular!

I would be moved to believing in God before such a magnificent display of beauty. Whenever I contemplate nature I find myself thinking of the creator.

When I see a child being born and then grow and respond and develop, I think of God and the amazing miracles of nature.

Does this not move you too?🙂

It does move me, but it seems much more beautiful and interesting without a creator.

I hope that one day you will believe in God.

You live right in the middle of Paradise and you do not see Him?

Why don’t you say the prayer I recommended?

And you can include the “threat”! See also my signature below - I believe it is relevant. I came across it in the days when my husband was searching. At the time I never spoke to him of these matters. There was a shyness which prevented me!
🙂

Hello A!

By the way, I showed your beautiful pictures to my husband. He is colour blind but he could appreciate the beauty of these images. How fortunate you are living with such beauty around you.

I am convinced that you will one day come to believe! I say this because you appear to be sensitive to and appreciative of great beauty!

Do you have children?
